hotel and banqueting industry in the US

it’s lucrative and it’s what i plan to do after my MBA. thoughs/opinions/suggestion/ideas regarding this field???

yes it is.. even u try the niche desi community.. there is a great scope.. how many manganis, birthdays, aqeqe, nikahs and marriages going on..

I don't like your signature. "If you can dream it, you can achieve it."

I dream of being the next Michael Jordan, but no matter what I do, I will never jump that high unless they install some rockets to my feet. :D

and thats exactly what moona needs to know about the hotel industry :rotfl:

This is a major headache type of business. Involves lots of public interaction and if you end up doing desis, they always bitch and moan no matter how good you serve them. Just be carefull and try to stay away from desi clients. Please dont tell me you plan on buying some Patel Motel in Parsippany, NJ !. That would be craps for sure. Buy or manage property in a nice vacation spot such as West coast of Florida or the Carolinas. Whatever you do, do it in style.

funguy, everything i do is with alot of style and grace, i can assure you of that. also, i am not (not in the least!) looking to do any desi-related hotel & banqueting whether on a small-scale or grand-scale. that is one thing i am sure of.

:p

but you might want to start out with the desi's. Establishing ur name and repute will take some time. I doubt if the local Americans would be willing to let a coloured girl organize their wedding. They perhaps would go for someone who has been in the business for a while and is well-known. UNLESS ofcourse you have plenty of contacts to get you started. :-D

On ther other hand, i am sure desi's would be more than happy to let you do that. Perhaps, cause' you might be in a better position to understand their culture compared to your counter parts or for whatever other reason.

and once you get settled, its up to you.

P.S 1. starting a business is never easy. 2. its a risk.

Which motel in New Jersey are you buying? Will you be giving discounts like $40 rooms to Guppies?

^ Please no red velvet sheets on beds. I would rather pay a few extra bucks than to put up with a sleazy atmosphere.
