Hot sauce

What hot sauces do you guys use to spice up your soups and stuff?

I’m liking this El Yucateco, Hot Sauce: Salsa Picante de Chile Habenero a lot! It isn’t light and vinegary like Tobasco, or sugary. It’s thickish and you need a few drops.

I also like Huy Fong, Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce. Amazing stuff!

Re: Hot sauce

hmmm normally I just buy any hot sauce (since its for hubby and not me), but I’ve been having Maggi’s chilli garlic sauce the last few weeks…love it! (but that’s not hot suace right? :bummer: )

Re: Hot sauce

^Maggi's chilli garlic sauce is yum. Also, Encona chilli sauce and I'm partial to Nando's hot sauce too.

Re: Hot sauce

for soups i just use fresh chopped red/green chillies with vinegar.

in hot sauces i love nandos xtra xtra hot sauce, maggie hot sauce, and imli sauce.

Re: Hot sauce

Sambal oelek..just loveeee it !!!!!

Re: Hot sauce

tabasco .. :yummy: .. :naak:

Re: Hot sauce

sriracha.. mm can eat anything with this when the mood strikes.

sambal olek.. for when i want some more texture in there.

harissa.. usually for marinating fish, or with stews that could use a little hint of bitterness and mint along with the heat

not a big fan of vinegary hot sauces that just have two flavor notes.

Re: Hot sauce

i used to buy alot of hot sauce, mainly encona, tabasco, and peri style sauce but lately i have replaces with plain chopped chillies, fresh jalopenos, scotch bonnet i find give the best flavours and scotch bonnet is really hot like i like. Also these no salt and no vinagar whcih is important for daily use.

in an emergance ill use encona sqeezy bottle hot sauce. it has 60% chillies no sugar some salt. or tobasco (did u try the green tobasco? made with jalopenos)

if you check the labels and one of the first ingediants is sugar, salt and water your wating your money. sometimes the chillie content is less than 10% is just sugar salt water and red coloring with 10% actual chillies.

I never buy a sauce with sugar in it unless its thai sweet sauce, again encona one is nice with garlic.

The peri style sauces are nice too ie nandos style.
