Hi All, my sister is getting married this year and she wants a hot pink lengha for the wedding day. She’s quite petite as well, so she doesn’t want the top/kameez to be too long, and she doesn’t want something that looks like it came out of the 90s either. Please post pictures of hot pink wedding lenghay or dresses that you have seen so that I can show them to her (cos she’s not on GS and she’s still a bit clueless)
I know you said no long kameez, but this one opens at the front, so it looks short and long at the same time. Does that make sense? I don’t know. Also, the bride is not tall, if you go buy the picture of them in front of the garage door, she would be about my height, and I’m petite. Still, if she really doesn’t want length, she could change the length of the kameez so it went up to her hip.
That is pretty lovely! Personally I think she would be okay with a slightly longer kameez, but she's just being a bit paranoid I think. I'll show her both though, thank you!
the thing with hot pink is that i cant be overwhelming if its done top to bottom, imho. it would be nice to temper it with a pale gold/tan colour too, or with a darker shade of a pink like this jora- http://www.paklinks.com/gsmedia/files/24772/fsd1.jpg
these are not all hot pink but i think they would all translate well into a darker/different shade of pink from what is shown here.
http://www.apnadress.com/inventory_images/6d5e06192f555fn.jpeg - this one is really pretty and i love the shade of pink- its subtle but not entirely pastel and it doesn’t look too busy either. plus, if your sister is petite and concerned about a long shirt, this length might work very well for her.

She's a bit clueless to be honest, she just said she wants a short kameez and slightly fitted lengha....then she asked what the difference between the fitted and non-fitted would look like. So really she needs some pictures to see what appeals to her and what will also suit her body shape!
this one is gorgeous and the kameez is not too long - personally i also think its nice to break it up with other colours - head to toe hot pink can be a bit much.
my lehnga was also hot pink Bright colours also photograph beautifully!
Yes I'm gonna get her to try and add another colour in to make it a bit more interesting, especially as I don't like the typical hot pink lenghay I've seen in the high street!
The thing about doing blocks of colour for someone on the shorter side is that it breaks you up and makes you appear even smaller. I like the lighter pinks ones SGC posted.
^ isn't there a rule about a darker color on top doing something and a lighter color on the top doing something else? or is that for making you look slimmer? regardless, the bride will always be wearing high heels so i wouldn't worry too much about that, personally. do you have any pics off your fab tumblr collection? have i told you how much i adore it?
I think she may like something like this, and it’s very pretty!
I keep trying to convince her not to go for a typical hot pink colour. She’s dead against wearing light colours because she doesn’t want something that will make her look too dark or washed out, and all the tea pink/bubble gum pink colours I’ve showed her she’s not too keen on. I think she just wants a nice rich pink perhaps. I’ll show her all of these again and see what she likes anyways!
I don’t blame her, pink is a difficult colour for a bride, it’s beautiful, but hit the wrong note, and you look tacky and overdone, or dated and juvenile.
Lol…SGC, you’ve mentioned it before. Thank you! I honestly didn’t think about it until you told me, I see a load of pictures I want to put, but I only choose stuff i love. In the end though, I don’t really think about it, so I don’t know how it ended up to be something you would like, being a design person.
