Hot oil/deep conditioning

Anyone ever tried either one? I try and do atleast one of the mentioned once a week (usually Friday’s) and if time permits another one mid-week.

I’ve used Vo5’s hot oil treatment and my grandmother makes a mixture of oils that I use and steam for about 15-20 minutes. I’ve found it really helpful since I have abused my hair in every way imaginable and it’s still very kind to me Alhamdulilah.

I’m extremely lazy to use any of the mayo/avocado messy hair-masks but I swear by Avon’s olive oil hair mask. It’s not messy, nor does it smell bad at all.

Re: Hot oil/deep conditioning

Vo5 has a cream one that I really like, but I find my hair falls out a lot (well not a lot, just more strands than usual). I can never remember to do it, so I end up remembering maybe once a month!

Someone suggested that I use it as I bleached my hair and it was really damaged afterwards. I couldn't find the oil here because I remember my mom used to make us use it when we were young!

Re: Hot oil/deep conditioning

Gina, what do you mean when you say you steam your hair?

I have a steamer, but for those that don't they should soak a small towel in hot water. Wring it out well and wrap your hair in it.

Re: Hot oil/deep conditioning

i read that if u do the same thing that Gina suggested above and spray the towel with ur favourite perfume, your hair would smell really nice :)

i do that when i'm lazy to wash my hair. lol.

Re: Hot oil/deep conditioning

Ohh. Interesting. Thank you for the tip! :)

..or dunk a finger in rose-oil and rub it all over your hair when it's wet :@:

Re: Hot oil/deep conditioning

for me, it conditions it, however it flattens it, so makes hair look and appear thinner...:
