Re: Hostel life in pakistan

I can imagine that hostel life for girls is kind of limited in Pakistan. Maybe not at places like LUMS, but for the most part probably.

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

Hostel life is not as amusing as u think!! Most hostels have a strict environment where girls are desperate for some freedom and then they start with smoking, taking drugs and i’ve even heard about lesbian stories :yukh:

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

lesbo crap

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

HOSTELS tend to be very strict in pakistan , my cousins are thr n hate it, but others are lovin it n spend most time awaragarding in ISB.

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

Like anything else in life, I'm sure its what you make of it. I lived in dorms in college, granted not in Pakistan, but I wasn't up to stupidity. I chose to study and work all the time. And I chose to keep my entertainment clean.

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

I've lived in hostel in lahore for 4 years. When I ook back at my hostel life...I think it was great. Our hostel rules were neither very liberal nor very strict. We were allowed to go out twice a week including weekend (some might think its pretty strict but it wasn't when compared to some others where you are not allowed to step out without a guardian.) But I think this was allowed only due to the nature of our curriculum ....we had to wander out a lot for numerous projects.

I was a paindoo type from a small city(I still am) .....n was quite afraid of any 'reputation risks' n so were my friends. We did hear about some immoral incidents every once in a while...but never ever witnessed one.

I felt horrible homesickness in start but had to keep my mouth shut as My father wasn't very much in favour of sending me so far initially(6 hrs. from my city) and i always feared if he ever knows i'm getting homesick he'll call me back. Thanx to my mum though ,who felt this n used to write me a letter EVERY SINGLE DAY throughout the first year. :-)

I think of my hostel life as a big experience.I was veryyy naive ....n lived a veryyyy sheltered life before... I wasn't that much hardworking while living with parents ....I only learnt it when I was on my own ...n Alhamdulillah I graduated while being among top 15 in uni.

BV... I hope you won't mind my 'essay' ....its just so that you made me look back after a long time(almost 8 years) n i just got carried away.:)

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

See i cud never live in such a strict environemnt… my parents are very very very strict and I’m fine with that, I don’t fight or have a problem with it anymore, but if strangers did that, no way

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

I spent a couple months in Lahore College for Women dorms and they were really strict over there. You could NOT step out of the main gate without a guardian. Then I got admitted into UET and stayed in their Al Zohra Hall for a year and loved it quite a bit. Made quite a few friends and we would do everything together : whether it be eating, or shopping or going to classes. We could venture out any time we wanted to except that we had to be back before 9 pm in winter and 10 pm in summer. Also, there were no restrictions on who was coming to visit etc. Phone calls were an issue since the phone was always busy with either families calling or prank calls from guys. Food was horrible and I think i used to weigh 112 lbs at 5'6" while I was there, my lowest ever. But i met some real good people, grew up a lot (i had to, had no choice) since i had to do everything myself.

I must say it was an eye opener.

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

I applied to study in a gurls dorm , but they never accepted me , go figure!

I think they were racist :(

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

wow…!!! Ira my youngest sis is there right noe…in the same, Zohra hall

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

it wasn't anythin outta the ordinary.. i was at the OPF hostel for bout 4 months... im a very clingy child so i couldnt stay at the hostel for very long.. and came back home .. hehe...

but ya.. nothing awesome to write home bout... just lots of lesbian stories.. and some silly pranks here and there.. typical dorm experience..

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

I have many cousins who liged in hostels, some love it some loathed it, expect ur food to be stolen from the freezers, unlimited independence and flirting opportunities, attacking anyone cousin, brother who would come to visit for treats (mufti kai rishte-dar), making crank calls, hating the wardens, and what not

Re: Hostel life in pakistan

I never lived or studied beyond grade 8th in Pakistan therefore I don't know how is it to live in hostels in Pakistan. But I did hear some scary stories about hostels such as the lesb. crap and drugs and smoking n wut not. I hope its not as bad as I've heard about it.
