but thanks to GOD , I am alive and kicking and posting this thread in cafe :halo:
Yesterday there was a sort of emergency at work. I was asked immediately to proceed to Barrie, to have a meeting with one of our suppliers. I had never been there, so quickly I printed a map from google and a few office fellaz told me signs to look for when I got there.
Its a stupid, absurdly small, exit from the highway
Anyway, So I made it to Barrie in about 40 minutes flat , drove @ 140kmph average all the way. Just out of Barrie town I looked to my right and there was this big signboard with the name of the company I was supposed to visit. The exit was just about 50 ft away, I was doing about 130 at that time. I knew if I missed that exit there was no way I could make it in time as the next exit was a good 10 miles away. I turned into the curve, hitting the brakes and I think I was doing around 70-80 on the curve :o.
I dont know why the car didnt turn turtle or why didnt I kill myself. There was no one behind or ahead of me , so this small accident went unobserved. The car skidded, tried to slide off the road - somehow it didnt and I managed to negotiate that tight curve…
Lesson - ***** the job and the deadlines and meetings
Life is more important, put yourself always at the top of the list
Yar its not about speed limits - or trying to pump that gas pedal just a lil bit more down, just a lil bit more and so on…
Its more about your safety and trying not to compromise when you get into a situation like that. The proper thing to do would have been to drive on, stop at the next Tim Hortons, make a fone call, relax, smoke and then drive back …
