I’m hooked on to em, i read it everymorning…and most of the time, it’s often true( feelings, lucky days, etc) . I read somewhere or i dont know if someone told me that theyre not to be taken seriously So i was wondering if there are any surah that tells us to not belive in them. Also, according to my dad its all fraud. they just generalize the stuff most people go through. SO once in a while i’ll too find it true.
mods: feel free to move it to religion sec if it needs to. I just thought i’ll get more replies here.
Horoscopes..crap.. over here they mostly mention abour ur ‘lover’ ur ‘partner’.. 2nite ur lover is givin u a big surprise blah blah blah.. no use for me to read it further..
Sheikh Sayyed M. Ad-Darsh, the former Chairman of the UK Shri`ah Council, states the following:
"Let us make this absolutely clear that there is no room in Islam for anyone predicting the future. True, if anyone reads horoscopes thinking that the stars will accurately chart his or her life, his Prayers will not be accepted by Allah, according to a prophetic Hadith in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The prayer of one who goes to a soothsayer, asks him something and believes in what he says, will not be accepted for forty days.". This applies equally to those consulting soothsayers and clairvoyants who cannot exercise any influence on their future.
^ that's a bit harsh I think. As Ira stated a lot of people read them for entertainment purposes. I don't believe them either and I sometimes read all of them just to get a good laugh because they all pretty much say the samething. What matters is your intention in Islam which sometimes a lot of us forget while passing judgements on others.
this reminds me one the guys at college. he used to read my horoscope n tell it to all the classmates. everytime i left the library he was reading a horoscope book which still degraded him in my eyes.
