Hormones

I have recently been going through some changes in the form of irregular light periods, hair loss and breast tenderness. After some blood tests is seems that its hormonal as my estrogen and progestrone levels are low for a women my age.I have been reffered to an endocrin but have a long wait before i can see him . The thing is everytime i try to look up something on the net relating to this it gives me a whole bunch of things on menapause. Is that the only thing my hormonal balance can be related to? im only 27. Can anyone shed any light on this. Thanx.

Re: Hormones

seashell, i dont think having low progesterone level is indicative of menopause. I am not a doctor but another forum that i am a member of, some women talked about it. Mainly they had trouble with getting pregnant and if they did, it was harmful for the baby since they had a short luteal phase (time between ovulation and period). So to remedy that, their docs provided some cream or oral supplements i think. Thats all i know or have heard of. InshaAllah in your case it wont be serious at all either and the specialist can figure something out for you :hugz:

Re: Hormones

Thank you sooo much for the feedback. is it possible for you to tell me what forum that is? pm me if you prefer. I just hope its nothing like that.

Re: Hormones

There are a lot of common (and manageable) reasons for irregularities in female hormones -- PCOS, pituitary adenoma, stress, thyroid issues, etc. Hormonal irregularities are often difficult to diagnose. Your doctor will probably fill you in.

Re: Hormones

this hormonal imbalance has nothing to do with menopause..u r too early for this..infact dont count on menopause..thie imbalance could be becuase of some stress or depression or like that u might have given a thought to something a lot..dont worry..so far as i think u need hormonal supplement and this would be for 2-3 months ..

Re: Hormones

Thanks for the info guys...come to think of it i have been stressed lately so maybe thats whats causing the imbalance. One of the things that is really getting me down is the amount of hair im losing! its scary! but i guess that should be sorted out once everythings back to normal.
