i was using my other laptop the other day n my son just hit his hand on the keyboard pressing random keys at once, the result was that my screen turned 90 degrees counter clockwise & become horizontal i.e taskbar is now on the right side of the screen n the icons r at the bottom of the screen. i have windows 8…plz can any1 guide me how to restore my screen??

First LOL or should I do lololol LOLxd? Anyway, try typing orientation when you open your start menu and you will get a 'screen orientation' choice. Click it and then change it back. Alt + arrows might not work.

Alt+Arrow key is for Intel Display Drivers with hotkeys enabled, Try that first, if that doesn't makes any difference, in windows 8 there is an option to use the laptop in portrait or landscape mode. Go to you desktop, right click there then chose Screen resolution and there you can find a drop down menu to select Portrait or Landscape modes, select Landscape.
