i personal think it’s not fair coz in jorden many gals get killed for somthing that’s not there fulte. they fell in love with none muslim guys. i know thats sooo bad but there are some other things they get killed for

like this one

this is a true story a 20 year old Jordanian girl, became pregnat after being raped by her neighbour. when her pregnancy became apparent to her family, they decided to kill her. so her brother drove her to a nearby football field parked the car and asked her to get out. he then repeatedly struck her on the head with a rock, drew her a knife, slashed her throat and stomach then lifet her by the said of the road. His family treaded him like Hero. thats sooooooo mean how can they take someone’s life just like thatttttttttt!!!

anyways i just wanna hear what u guys think. so feel freee to share ur thing.

Real honour or izzat is in following the deen and not sticking to Jahalliyah.
If the girl was wrong forgive her but no one but a sharia court is allowed to punish someone. Killing the girl is wrong. Two wrongs don't make something good.

Its a ridiculous notion. Perfectly sensible people do it because they think society expects them to .Weird how they dont realize that they are a part of that society.

WRONG

stems from inability to something to the real criminal, the one who is actually capable of defending himself. betrays impotance and cowardness. not honour.

There can not be a different opinion !!!

It's a shame that often honour killing is attached to Islam whereas, it has no place in the religion. Infact, it's a horrific crime in the eyes of Islam.

Honor killings are a grave crime. I would say that this speaks volume about the understanding of Islam in our society. These people need to be educated if tehy still don't listen the state must punish them! Islamic justice is what is needed.

Families who cannot be strong enuf to stick up for the people they love, care more about what the neighbors gonna think/say stoop to honor killing, and to somehow believe that doing it in the name of Islam will rid them of the guilt. Well a murderer is a murderer... and nothng can be colder an more evil than murdering your own blood.

i'd be surprised if i saw a reply here in support of honor killing....
and i bet almost all of us share this view with me....
hence i wonder why the question ever came up....

I know its rampant in Pakistan as well as in the some of the Middle Eastern countries. I think no sane person would ever condone such act. Its condemnable on all counts.

I would speak from a Pakistani's perspecive; I believe its the comodification of women folk in some parts of Pakistan as well as the various laws( tribal, state, customary, cultural) that are a root cause of this problem. Wait another one is the label of honor attached to a female. Then the state in our case hasn't done much in this regard...somtime back when the parliamentarians belonging to the PPP tried to introduce a bill in in the legislative body, it was rejected by the rest. Now, these are the educated people who should be taking care whether the rights of the humans (women as well as men) are safe guarded while they are in power.
Sadly, the presence of multiple laws only adds to the miserable state in which many women find themselves on daily basis. If u apply one law, it can be easily canceled out by the other.
To think that Pakistan is also a member of CEDAW(Convention on the Elimination and Discrmination against Women) speaks volume. Interestingly, a study showed that 80% of the women who are languashing in jails in Pakistan are facing charges of adultery....

100% wrong, people dont understAND IT...

Chapter 4, verse 34 of the Koran?

What's their to think? It's wrong.

chaper 4, verse 35 of the Quran????
or do u just stop at 34 and never care to read further....
it tells u what to do to resolve a problem and HONOR-KILLING is not it....

It seems that the disgusting practice of Honour Killings is spreading into Europe.

Europe tackles ‘honour killings’

**European police officials are meeting to look at ways of tackling the rising phenomenon of “honour killings”. **

They aim to set up a pan-European unit to combat the killings and crack down on related issues such as trafficking.

Police are re-opening murder files related to families of Turkish, Middle Eastern, Asian, Arabic and Eastern European origin over the past 10 years.

Many victims of “honour killings” are women involved in relationships their family felt brought dishonour on them.

Experts say such killings are on the rise in Europe, but as the issue remains largely hidden from public view, exact numbers are unknown.

A conference in The Hague will begin with a Swedish representative highlighting the case of a young woman called Fadime.

A 26-year-old Kurd, Fadime was shot dead two years ago near Stockholm, allegedly by her father because of her relationship with a Swedish man.

The murder triggered calls for urgent action to protect young immigrants who fall out with their families.

**Contract killers **

In England and Wales police are reinvestigating more than 100 murders they suspect could be honour killings.

Detectives from London’s Metropolitan police are examining murder files going back 10 years - 52 in the capital and 65 in other parts of England and Wales.

Many of the female victims were from South Asian communities.

Police say some of the murders were carried out by contract killers hired by the families.

They also believe that so-called “bounty hunters” were involved - people, including women, who make a business out of tracking down victims.

Last September the UK police announced new research into the culture surrounding honour killings.

The undertaking followed the conviction of Abdalla Yones, a Kurdish Muslim, for the murder of his 16-year-old daughter Heshu after she formed a relationship with a man of whom he disapproved.

At the time, Commander Andy Baker, head of the Metropolitan Police’s Serious Crime Directorate and the chair of the new strategic taskforce, said the force needed to understand why the killings took place.

He said police had been “unaware” and “ignorant” of crimes that were going on.

Bounty killers??? How can people make money out of hunting these girls down? That’s horrible!

Interesting overall. Perhapes having these women serve time in jail is safer than the mob justice that would be served to them on the street?

So ahem the sikh woman killed in her home by a bounty killer should be called Muslim as well? Tsk tsk how naive.
