i just dont understand … these folks move to europe and usa but refuse to say goodbye to bad practices. they are fine putting their precious daughters through hell for sake of their goddamn honor

Thank you America your the best country in the world. I have similar story likes most pakistani girls go through. In 2005 I was also being force married to a uneducated drug addicted jobless man in Pakistan whose father was friend of my father. Our whole family went to Pakistan for a month long trip and that’s where my family was trying to force me to do Nikkah with him i was only 17 then junior in HS. I refused and whole town got mad and my father said it is matter of his family honor i have to marry that man or my father will disown me. i was crying sick no one cared but a week before my marriage date a strong earthquake struct kashmir and alot of our relatives died that’s how i was saved. we came back to America and i never went back since than and got married in states with man of my own choice.

What is it with these people and cousin marriages - my mums trying to hook me up with her brothers daughter because she’s a dactar back in Lahore, I’m like mum, no. Telling me how “yahaan ki larki tumay ungliyon pur nachai gi”. I’m like ammi, ur daughter’s “yahaan ki larki”. For my sister, no freshie husbands allowed, but for me it’s A OK.
