A subject that has been discussed countless times. What are your views about this? What punishment do you propose for the guilty?

Personally, I suggest death by torture.

But if the man is put to death, he will be celebrated as having died "defending his family honor". Sick, but true.

The punishment should be such that it makes an example out of the murderer. Something so extreme that it inspires fear among the toughest of men.

Capital Punishment , but before that solitary confinment for a good few years so that the criminal realizes what he's done and what he will lose. Alot of them come out thinking they are the national hero's , they killed their sister/ wife in honour killings ... and Capital punishment takes their life away immediately , the whole point is you create a level of guilt in them and then order the capital punishment.

I am sure when 5...10...15 people will get death sentence for the horrible crime, Public will not like these many celebrates neither they will want to be one....

Even if the initial amount reached above 50 hangings a day , but it will eventually teach the weshi kaum to live like a human and if they dont , then they can wait for their turn to be hanged .. but killing in the name of honour or in any other cause is no excuse for any nation ... hai na .

There was a story some years back where a woman had acid thrown in her face by a man that had professed his love for her and she had subsequently refused.
I'm not sure but I think that the courts ruled she would be permitted to drop acid in his eyes (blind him) as justice.
I wonder if that actually happened and how she might have been able to do that...........

Not that I am minimizing her suffering or grief but I don't think that I could have done it.

There is no place in Islam for such barbaric behaviour. The murderers, and thats what they are, should serve a life sentence or hanging. One such case today in UK:

That is such a sad story.. her sister was recently in the news as well, seems like there is a lot of messed up stuff going on in that family:

I remember hearing on the news a few years back that Shafilea had swallowed bleach in Pakistan and run away from home more than once back in the UK.. think how desperate she must have been :frowning:

Apart from the parents and older family members taking part in honour killings it always shocks me when I hear that sometimes the girls’ brothers are also involved despite often being in relationships or just sleeping around themselves..

Honor killings are disgusting and I dont think that they have been the over discussed. This is a problem that needs attention and needs to be spoken about over and over and over. No one has a right to take a life away. Thats why I wont say capital punishment...but definitelylife in jail. These stories make me sick.

I can think of another person on this forum (who was banned) who supports them as well and basically said any Pakistani girl in his community who married outside her race deserved to be honour-killed or at the v.least shunned by those around her.. He was a UK Pakistani.. what a moron..
