Maray Huay Ko Gar Maara...Tou Kiya Maara! Thah kiya PTDC motel mein jo destroy kiya hai------:)

It passes almost by SWAT !

Baarish Ka Jaadu SURR Chahrr Ke Bolta Hai...Puray August mein wahaan...

I disagree. I have stayed at those hotels and they were really nice. The detached huts that they had were just amazing and having such a modern facility at such a far off beautiful location was quite a blessing.

I want to go one way by air to skardu from islamabad and return by coach bus service if and only if the land route is safe. it would be a nice adventure. i just plan 4 days at skardu and would select some of the excursion trips available at shnagrila skrdu website.

when u plan to go to that area?

I'm planning there in April... same like yours... one side by air and return by road... that'd be much fun... and that'd be a 10 days trip..

thats really nice. Do remember to share ur experiences at the end of the trip.
i heard that there r approximately 4 shangrila resorts on the way from isb to skardu. i have a KKH map in soft copy. if u r interested, i can send it to u, but i need ur email address for that.

Gilgit has a nice serena hotel. do stay there. In hunza, u will find HUNZA BILTIT INN.

Re: honeymoon in pakistan

Do send me thing related.

Hi,

i emailed u yesterday. confirm receipt!

^Thank you so much.. It really helped.

U r welcome.
just remember to share ur travel experiences regarding the places / transport / hotels etc.

PIA operates a daily flight to skrdu at 9:00 am.
Do visit serena hotels website for their hotels in gilgit and hunza.

But first of all check the latest security situation. I remember, that Malam jabba ski resort has been destroyed during the recent unrest. Malam jabba is very close to swat. Hopefully u will not face any problem in skardu and gilgit too.

Can anybody advise hotel room charges per night for PC bhurban? Any body who stayed there in recent past!

I checked their website. It shows Rupees 25K / night for standard room but this looks too much and unbelievable.

Well dear if you compare Skardu and Burban Muree then Skardu is the best, I have been to skardu for many times, there is one another place where you can enjoy your honeymoon,, Just go to the beautiful Hunza Valley which is called roof of the world and heaven on earth..

about the shigar fort and shangrila.. they are both very nice, but in different place and look.. if you are nature lover then go to Shigar Fort..

For any kind of help feel free to email me on [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected] please write in detail .. i mean mention.. where you got my contact

i also interested to visit hunza valley or skardu with my family, during summer vacations. But i did not get any satisfactory information.pIA ppl says that booking of gilgit flight is manual.so you can stuck in islamabad or gilgit.no confirm flights and no confirm seat.skardu is better option as boeing flys there and less chance of flight cancellation but all flights of these areas are up to weather.i read in a book of mustansar hussain tarar that their flight to skardu came back just before landing as pilot could not see the airport due to thick clouds.i donot want to frighten you ppl but i got confused.we have to travel with two kids and a toddler.due to living in lahore it is very tough to wait for a flight in islamabad.i talked to ptdc ppl and they have suggested kaghan, naran and that famous lake.no flights hassels.just by car travelling. But i am still confused as i want to see hunza valley. Can anyone share experiences about kaghan and naran side. How is the road conditions, specially after earth quake of 2005?

besides the transport issue, take care of the security issues as well in these areas when u go.

Hi!
did u travel to Skardu up till now?

as far as i Know there are no security issues in the northern areas except in Chilas and its southern neighboiur in NWFP Kohistan. Gilgiy, Hunza, Skardu region havd never really had security issues exceopt the occasional sectarian clashes.

Hunza is quite liberal and you and your wife can dress more freely there than in other montane resorts in Pakistan. the people are far more tolerant and you will see a complete contrast between shia-sunni dominated gilgit and hunza - the absence of women in the former.

the people in these regions are very polite and the ebst mannered comapred to other hill station areas.

the KKH passes through Swat, although its far eastern portion - you should know Besham is in Swat but I think that area is realtively peaceful. Besham is a part of Swat but geographically it does notbelong there.

if you goto karimabad do check Cafe De Hunza, amazing treats there :P

i went to gilgit by road in june 2006 and had no problems at all. it was a long and cumbersome journey. i went by bus at night and i felt suffocated because ic ould not see the journey. i could hear the rive rindus below and make out the dark walls that were mounatins and feel the suden breaking.....on the way back i came during the day, it felt so much better!
