Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

so we are talking about around 2-3 lakh rupees?

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

yeah but it was three years back so i cant say wht vl be the present prices?

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

From Pakistan personally I think the best options would be to go to Maldives, Malaysia or Thailand. The flight fares are reasonable too.
honeymoon to Europe would just leave you bankrupt due to high air fares and plus traveling and food etc is expensive. Also halal stuff is a bit hard to find in Holland, France, Hungary etc. Trip to Europe does come with the attraction that they have the same currency (euro) good travel links and obviously just one Schengen visa required. But overall it would be too much of a hassle IMO.

Heidelburg is a BEAUTIFUL city. Infact my personal favorite in Europe would always be Germany. Paris is overrated ! I didnt like it at all.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

as far as costs go..for Europe it would at least cost you about 4-5lacs ..and for Asian countries it could be up to 3 lacs definitely including air travel, stay etc.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

peak season is when the weather is warm, off-peak is usually hurricane season in the caribbean lol and when the weather is generally rainy and unsettled. for the caribbean, this means september to november. december to april’ish is high season. the summer months get very hot. oh, and in the caribbean a lot of the high-end resorts will go to a no-children policy during peak times usually december to february, etc. this can be nice if you are looking for an adults-only, more peaceful experience.

night train tour of europe sounds brilliant but it depends on how much luggage you’ll be carting. as well, if you want to go off the beaten path, then i would highly recommend exploring eastern europe. budapest and prague both are incredibly gorgeous, very interesting places with lots of culture to explore. romania is worth a visit too for places like transylvania. the upside too is they will be slightly cheaper than western europe, however, you definitely don’t want to do the train thing in eastern europe!

as for europe being clichéd, dude, there’s a very good reason it is- its GORGEOUS and interesting and has boatloads of activities, climates, and things to do.

have you considered the scandinavian countries? http://www.scandinavianvision.com/scandinavian-deals/romance-and-honeymoon-deals/romantic-tour-of-scandinavia/

check with http://www.lonelyplanet.com/ and http://www.tripadvisor.com for lots more information.

we were planning a trip to iceland last year and then the volcano blew and caused a huge fuss. boo! iA next year maybe.

oh, and someone commented on the halal issue in europe- yeah, you’ll have to do vegetarian food mainly unless you go looking for the arab or indian/pakistani places. having said that, its still delicious. i had the most amazing spaghetti with just garlic and lemon in venice which i wouldn’t have ordered if i could have had the meat on the menu, so it might give you an opportunity to explore.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

Heidelburg is gorgeous, i agree. The views from the castle are amazing!

Why is everyone hating on Paris? :(

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

oh and for our babymoon last september, we went to barbados and booked through http://wwwluxurylink.com
its an auction site for high end resorts. we paid $2400 for a $4600 package! definitely check it out. they do vacations all over the world.

this will give you an insight into everything you need, from places to stay and what to do…food wise there are a few halal places in Dublin including my own take away  haha

only etihad comes to Dublin from Pak (as in you avoid the UK) and Emirates will be launching in January 2012, i think flights would be around €500-800 (depending on what airline u take and what time of year ur coming) to Dublin.

B&B’s are a cheaper option than hotels but the Jurry’s inn christchurch is a lovely hotel right in the city centre near a cathedaral and all the touristy attractions

good Luck!

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

Great ideas here! My fiance actually lives in Germany at the moment, and I in Toronto. So we've been discussing about honeymoon too. And I'm not sure if I wanna do Europe, though it'd be easier since I'll be in Germany. Or we can do something completely different.

I feel after the stress and chaos of wedding planning, it'll be nice to just go to a resort and relax - so I was thinking Cook Islands maybe. Or maybe Mauritius. But, I dunno...might just end up staying in Europe.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

with the site? perfect. we paid online, they sent us the resort info, we communicated with them directly and confirmed everything. the resort itself was superb. intimate, on the smaller side, and the people were soooo caring and kind. when i was barfing morning, noon and night from morning sickness, they would make me anything i asked for- fresh fruit platters, egg sandwiches, chocolate milk- whatever i was craving, they'd have it ready for me when i needed it. extremely lovely people and beautiful resort.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

Well for some unknown reason we decided to go to Cinque Terre, Italy & Southern Spain. Even though we been to Italy countless times, i know its an odd choice.. but oh well …

  1. The overall trip cost including everything around 12 to 15 thousand US dollars..

  2. Certainly, it’s a beauty on earth.

  3. In Cinque Terre/French Riviera and other far away European destinations, you aren’t going to find typical tourists. You have to very open minded about the food & stuff. For example i don’t mind sitting in bars & drink a bit, it’s the best place to make friendship with locals. Another example can be hmm.. you can’t enjoy french/italian food without proper wine pairing.

  4. Even a small “khokey” wala accept credit cards, you don’t need to carry any cash in my opinion. ATM’s are around every block corner.

  5. 5-7 days is enough with two destinations. If you are spending all the days in one city you will be bored, guaranteed.

  6. I hate travel agents, you can book flight to virtually any destination from the internet. Same goes for any major attractions, hotel bookings.. etc. So what’s the fuss?

A friend of mine went there recently and came back with raving reviews of the place. She was there on work though. Paid for and all. How expensive is it?

Re: Honeymoon Destinations and Personal Reviews

how expensive,.... it all depends how much lavish you wanna be. normally i would count if don't stay at private islands .. hmm 500 to 700 $ a day.
