English/Urdu
and yes i do call him with a nick name
for some reason I mostly call him 'baba' after my son :(
I used that few times and he srated calling me mama unintentionally I think, and I didn't like I was like 'I am not your mom'
We do have few names fro each other that also have evoloved with time. We hardly call each other by name..
We used to speak english most time, but since myt son started understanding and learning to speak we switched to urdu so that he can learn sahi urdu.
Re: Honey...can you please pass me the salt?
She calls me 'sunein'. "Sunein namak de dein". But sometimes she calls me by my name too.
I usually don't use any specific suffix. Something like "namak utha dena please".
I want her to speak English, but we always end up speaking Urdu most of the time.
baandi, hamaray liye namak pesh kia jaaye.
or
yo, fetch me some salt. pronto. don't make me reach for my charri.
works like a charm.
Re: Honey…can you please pass me the salt?
A mixture of English, French and Urdu, but mainly English…if i’m in a mood or i want to tease and confuse him, i’ll speak Pushto or a Slavic language.
And he calls me baandar ![]()

Re: Honey...can you please pass me the salt?
English. Sometimes we throw in a few Urdu words like: yaar, kay, haan, oye. I just feel more comfortable talking in Urdu because I still get a tiny bit shy talking in Urdu in front of him although both our Urdu is eik dam badass. Also, because I talk fast when I get nervous so English is so much easier.
And sometimes I go all gangsta on him by going: "Whaaatup?". Ahem. And when I'm feeling lovey-dovey, I say random stuff like: cutie-patutie, sweetums, sweetie-pie, jalebi, or rhyme his name w/ another random word, lol.
And like someone said here, I don't feel myself when saying stuff like honey/sweety. Just not me.
Re: Honey...can you please pass me the salt?
