Homosexuality in Pakistan

Mudassar:

Had you read my post carefully you’ll find:

“Islam forbids homosexual relationships but nowhere do I see such an aggressive attitude commanded by Allah”

I neither implied nor stated Islam tolerates homosexuality. I was commenting on your attitude towards homosexuals which is bigoted to say the least.

Your comparison of homosexuals with paedophiles is not valid. Homosexuals are consenting to the act whilst paedophiles are abusing their power. The two are not the same.

This has been discussed on soc.culture.islam and I suggest you search www.dejanews.com in particular Abdul Rahman Lomax’s comments.

Abdul recalls a homosexual Muslim who did not want to get married as he felt no attraction towards women. The Muslims was being pushed into a marriage. The Muslim was unable to discuss his problem because of the hatred displayed towards homosexuals by people such as yourself. Yes we have homosexual Muslims within our Ummah. It is haram to practice homosexuality but whether it is haram to be in such a condition is unclear.

I am not trying to legalise homosexuality. I am opposed to hatred and discrimination towards them (homophobia). Talk of pushing them off buildings etc is not acceptable behaviour from a Muslim. It does not concur with Islamic adab as I understand it.

Farouq Taj.

Assalamualaikum Mudassar, I agree with your views 100%. I have no sympathy for gays myself. If anyone calls me homophobic, I take no offense. These homosexuals are immoral freaks of nature. In the Quran, Allah refers to them as abominations or something to that effect.

Farouq, "Islam forbids homosexual relationships but nowhere do I see such an aggressive attitude commanded by Allah."
You may be right that a lot of people have something personal against gays. This is one way to think of it, we hate gays in the same way girls hate perverted guys. I believe that a faggot is just as bad as a rapist if not worse. Faggots and rapists are alike, because they can't control their basic instincts. As far as just being in a state of mind where men find other men attractive, but don't act on their impulse, then it's alright. If a gay man doesn't act on his impulse or talk about it, then he can be cured. If Allah created Man in such a way that he couldn't help being gay, then it simply wouldn't be forbidden.

As for what kind of ruler Umar (R.A.) was, he was a firm but just ruler. He was not a harsh and cold hearted ruler. He was so just, that if he hit you out of anger, then he would demand that you retaliate. I believe that if pushing fags off buildings was a practice that Umar (R.A.) followed from the time of Rasulullah (S.A.W.). He knew the consequences of starting bida, and he was God fearing.

If we know that Allah punished gays by having their village or town turned over by an angel and then slammed into the ground, then I don't think the idea of pushing them off buildings would be so far fetched.

Homosexuality is on the increase, because a society where evil can flourish is being created. We must condemn this evil practice and raise our kids to be anti gay, so that this freak show race can be eliminated.

Mr. Farouq-Taj!

Although your posts are generally good please show the due respect to Sayyedna Hadrat Umar in al Khattab the Amir al Mumineen radhi Allah anhu, one of the 10 promised paradise by the Messenger of Allah sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam. About SAyyedna UMar Our Master The Beloved Messenger said: 'If there were another Prophet after me [and there is not] it would be Umar.'

So, please know your maqaam before you accuse anyone especially one of the greatest of all times by Ijma [consensus] of the Ahle Sunnat scholars based on the Book and the Sunnah [second only in fact to Sayyedna Abu Bakr radhi Allah anhu]. Be careful!

Fear Allah!

'I declare war on him who harms my Wali' [hadith qudsi]

Asif:

My criticism of Umar as written above was not qualified with any evidence or reason. I just made an unsubstantiated comment. For that reason I apologise and withdraw my comment.
