Re: Homeopathy
Salaam,
Well I have been trying homeopathy for a while for a skin condition...I have faith that inshallah it will help. My grandfater used homeopathic medicine for many ailments, and gave it to other family members for many problems. As far as I know, it has worked wonders. Inshallah it will work for me also...
Well, there is no harm in trying it...it has no side effects whatsoever, and it even tastes good :)
Re: Homeopathy
I have used homeopathic remedies for many ailments now and have found them to be very, very beneficial.
I would prefer them to chemical based medications any day!
Re: Homeopathy
It's merely a placebo effect.
One of my uncles persuaded my grandmother to try homeopathic medicine for her breast cancer rather than chemotherapy. She's dead now.
Re: Homeopathy
It is excellent if you suffer from renal stones or kidney infection :k: very beneficial.
Re: Homeopathy
I have quite a few aches and pains and usually turn to homeopathic remedies as a solution. It's an expensive alternative, but I prefer it to taking medicines. I find it to be a lot more relaxing in the long run as well.
Re: Homeopathy
its good, but takes a lot of time to heal.
Re: Homeopathy
Does anyone know what is the substance used in homeopathic medicines? I'm using them for my kidney stones, and I guess its helping. Not really sure.
I figured its a placebo effect too.
Re: Homeopathy
Renal stones respond to drinking a lot of beer to.
Re: Homeopathy
PCG, alcohol is a major componenet of homeopathic medicines, (not a lot but its is there in a ll the homeopathic medicines, but i don't think it's haraam as its for medicinal purposes)
Re: Homeopathy
Haraaaaaaaaaam :nono:
Haha. I have a maulvi auntie who is gung-ho about homeopathic meds.
Iām so throwing that in her face next time Iām in Karachi.
But aside from Alcohol, what is the nature of the key ingredients? Are they herbal extracts or something?
Re: Homeopathy
I cannot say its foolish or bad thing.
I'd say, it might be helpful sometimes but cannot cure many things that conventional medicine can. Also, as it is said, homeopathic medicine has no side effects while conventional medicine has many, it is true but I really don't think homeopathic medicine can cure.
The conventional medicine has made tremendous progress and where new disease entities are identified at microscopic and molecular levels, the treatment is becoming more and more compplex and different. Many many disease entities previously known are now being reclassified and reconsidered to an extent that the treatment modalities know previously are inadequate.
In this situation, when homeopathic medicine treats a symptom of "inflamation of liver" or "Jaundice" it seem quite vague to me, lacking definition.
Re: Homeopathy
Homeopathic remedies have been shown to help numerous things...I mean if you think about it, if nature creates a problem, it also creates the solution to it. This is the basis for modern medicine although technology has taken us far away from it.
I've started using flax seed oil in my son's food, its used to ease symptoms of ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) among other things - its a great "brain food". I'll post back in a few weeks when we see how well it works - or doesnt!
There are so many different homeopathic remedies, for so many different things...I'm sure some work and some dont. You just have to look for "clinical studies" and their results.
Re: Homeopathy
Flax seed oil is a type of homeopathic medicine? Isn't that just herbal medicine?
Re: Homeopathy
i used to run my dads pharmacy in pakistan and we used to carry homeopathic medicine as well. the homeopathic drops do contain 90 percent alcohol but people swore by their use. especially for kidney stones.
the stuff that i was always skeptical about was humdard line of products. i remember eating khamira gaozban when i was young. it was so sweet i was hooked. someone sent me a email about 'saafi' containing arsenic and i did take that for my teenage acne. i wish someone would analyze other products carried by humdard.
Re: Homeopathy
You know I told my dad the same thing. They gave me homeopathic pills for kidney stones. And all it seems like is sugar pills with some alcohol in it. You can SMELL the alcohol. My dad says, no, they put something specific in it, but no one really knows what.
I know there are homeopathic stores in the USA, and I've read some of their ingredients and they have really weird long names...except I just don't know what those substances are and where they come from and how they're produced. What makes them different from chemical meds used in allopathic medicine? I know supposedly there is no side effects, but then that leaves the question...what are these substances that have no side effects, but are curative???
Seems like a big gimmick to me.
Re: Homeopathy
i thought u cured everything with besan and pakoray.
Re: Homeopathy
No. I use drugs. Lots of 'em. Regularly. You need perscriptions for them from an allopathic doctor, but I have my connections ;)
Re: Homeopathy
I agree with Mad Sci. It is just a placebo affect.
I read this a while ago. Very interesting

Stop throwing your money away on homeopathy.
Re: Homeopathy
The homeopathy items I have used are cremes and sprays that you apply onto your skin. I've never tried taking homeopathy pills .... I am not sure that I would want to either. I would rather stick to the cremes and lotions that I buy.
