So how do you know a homeopath is authentic and his medicine is good? Are there any standards?

Someone in my family, who passed away about 5-10 years ago was the most well known homeo path doctor in the twin cities of Pakistan. I was amazed how his list of patients included ex-prime ministers Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif and ex-president Ghulam Ishaq Khan because quite frankly I used to believe in real medicine, but from what I saw and observed, he was really good. I guess it has to do alot with the word of mouth thing. His daughter in law is now the most well known homeopath doctor in the city.
So how do you know a homeopath is authentic and his medicine is good? Are there any standards?
my mom used to treat us completely with homeopathy ... she had similar issues about the authenticity of the medicines , so she used to buy the sealed liquid medicine bottles seperately and the little pills seperately from Pakistan and would mix the medicines at home ... she used to get them from the well known homeo doctors from Pakistan.
Dont know if homeo docs are regulated properly .. but the medicine is very effective and has no side effects ...

homeopathy believes in "fighting disease/poison with extemely diluted poison." it is extremely absurd. many of the dilution rates they stick to are so ridiculous - your whole bottle of medicine would have less than one molecule of the "medicine" in it. very unscientific.
my parents fed me a bunch of homeo meds as a kid whenever i had a cough/cold/fever thing. i loved the stuff - sugar balls, drops of almost pure ethanol/booze. my mom claims it works for her chronic joint aches. but i personally think it is just the placebo effect.

Chicken biryani, but that's the thing, these days you do get side effects with homeopathic medicine. I have personally seen that happening with my father. Of course the prices of a treatment have gone up like crazy now with all the commercialization and there's so much hit or miss and experimentation involved that you seriously get fed up of trying.
Many years ago, however, there were purer practices and my tonsilitis as a child was cured by homeopathy, but like everything else, now you can hardly find a good homeopathic doc.

If homeopathy is the one of proven way of curing diseases.. I wonder why there are no homeopath med schools ?.. or are there any??
I think the reason why people dont believe in homeopath is that most of their medications are 90% alcohol mixed with 10% some other medicine and the sweet little pills..also the fact that you have to take the medication for as long as u dont feel you are getting better..
My uncle practices homeopath at his home and he claims that he has cured a lot of patients and they're all satisfied with homeopathic treatment.
