Homeopathic treatment

1- I need to know the general opinion about homeopathic medicine.
2- Do any of you know, if it has any cure for post surgical adhesions?

I would be interested in reading any success stories, please!
Thank you!

How Does Homeopathy Work?

Re: Homeopathic treatment

Hello? 21st century is asking you to try out Evidence based medicine.

Those sweet small balls won't do anything.

And yes I have tried them when I was a 12 yr old kid. My mom used to bring me those and I used to finish the entire bottle at the same time because they taste so good.

Thanks for your input, guys!

Stoppit, it's amusing to see what you had to say. :)
I wanted to reject the idea of homeopathy myself as well, but I have lived in Germany for over a decade and I saw a good number of conventional doctors practicing homeopathy too! I'm sure you have heard about Dr Schwabe who is considered a big name in making this medicine. From what I know of Germans, they are a very calculated nation; adopting what really suits them and don't hesitate to throw an ideology out if the window if it doesn't work. So basically that confused me.

Conventional medicine has only laparoscopy as a possible solution for the hypothesis of my diagnosis and I don't fancy anything invasive after having gone through a full laparotomy!

Re: Homeopathic treatment

My regular doctor prescribed homeopathic medicine for kidney stones (don't eat bad ketchup folks). I was skeptical but in pain so anything would do at that point. My kidney stone disintegrated in every ultrasound. If that was a placebo then my genes are awesome.

Re: Homeopathic treatment

Afia, was just having a bit of fun. I hope people realise the difference between homeopathy and herbal medicine (for want of a better a description - chinese medicine etc). The latter I believe does have it's place because it's usually also accompanied by strict recommendations for lifestyle changes and the practitioner spends a lot of time figuring out what factors might be causing the symptoms, rather than just treating the symptoms which is what 'western' medicine has become all about. I'm not a medical doctor, but I think I can confidently say that scar tissue is a normal part of any wound healing/tissue repair and adhesions are an expected part of that in some areas of the body. Personally, I would say if there is any role for herbal medicine, it would be before and immediately after surgery to promote the right kind of healing and avoid the formation of adhesions (so, prevention rather than treatment).

I do believe in natural/herbal medicines myself. In fact these are my first choice in case I ever need for me and my family.
However, I couldn't really find a herbal cure for adhesions. The problem is with conventional treatment of this problem....adhesions are usually caused due to surgeries and to remove any fibrous bands you have to have another surgery. That makes me shudder and in my desperation I'm looking for alternatives before I eventually give in.
