Homemade Face Masks

Homemade Face Masks

Carrot Facial Mask
Ingredients Needed:
2-3 large carrots
4 1/2 tablespoons honey

Directions:
Cook carrots, then mash. Mix with honey. Apply gently to the skin, wait 10 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.

Glowing Facial Mask
You will love your radiant skin after using this recipe.

All you need is:
1 tbsp fuller’s earth
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp mashed papaya

Mix and put on face for 20 minutes then rinse off.

Honey Mask
Perhaps the best facial mask is honey.

Place a cloth in warm water and apply to your face to open the pores. Smear on honey, and leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores.
Use once a week.

Skin Face Sauna
A good deep cleansing treat is to give your face a sauna. This is especially good for congested skin.

You need to fill a bowl with near boiling water and add four drops of each of the essential oils recomended for your skin type.
NORMAL : Mandarin and Lavender.
OILY : Lemon and Eucalyptus.
DRY : Rose and Camomile.

Place a towel over your head and hold it over the bowl from a distance of about 30cm for a period of around two minutes. This opens the pores and prepares it for a face mask.

You should not use a face sauna if you have sensitive skin, are pregnant or suffer from asthma.

Re: Homemade Face Masks

is there any specific age that you should be using mask at or any other specific requirements?
I dun have much complains about my skin but I feel like trying one of these face masks.. is it a good idea to go ahead considering you might not need it or probably you dunno if you really need it or what... I am just scared to try one because my skin is way too sensitive like it can't even stand any make up at all!

Should I try or not?

Re: Homemade Face Masks

I have sensitive skin and over the years have come to the conclusion that if you dont need it, Dont use it.
My sis has the similar skin but uses all manner of potions and masks and crams

Quite often she'll have skin problems, whereas I, who tend to use hardly anything have clear skin.

Re: Homemade Face Masks

GTG
come over. Let's have a facial party.

Re: Homemade Face Masks

Daisy, I find that too. Very rarely do I use make-up, skin is clear and for forty practically wrinkle free. My sister ladles it on, her skin is a mess. Besides the natural look (unless a special occasion) is always better.

blushing_vision - Thank you, the skin sauna looked interesting. The one thing I always had and wished I could change are those circles under the eyes, do you have anything for that?

Re: Homemade Face Masks

minah pa
are your circles hereditery?

Re: Homemade Face Masks

ugh, yeah

Daddy's to blame for this one :). Have a pic on profile that was taken last year, think you can see them somewhat

Any tips gratefully accepted :)

Re: Homemade Face Masks

minah
just saw your pic. Actually they are not visible in the pic.

I don't know if anything can help if they are hereditery. I think mine
are hereditery as well. :(

HOpe u guys have fun.

Re: Homemade Face Masks

What kind of spots, like acne spots?

Re: Homemade Face Masks

minah_pa, are you talking about circles under the eyes? That’s been discussed here quite a bit. It could be your diet - too much salt, not enough water or lack of sleep. You could try putting tea bags or cucumbers on your eyes. I don’t know if this actually helps, but some people swear by it. Or you could try putting some teaspoons that you put in the freezer for a few minutes onto your eyes. I have an eye mask that I got from the Body Shop. It helps take away the puffiness and reduces the circles … and it’s quite relaxing too.

Check out these two old threads … lots of tips in them.

Re: Homemade Face Masks

Thank you MehnazQ, I'll read them now - been a lifetime thing and I cut salt out of everything I eat, my mom hardly used it either. Maybe water, ugh, have to force myself to drink the few cups that I do.

Re: Homemade Face Masks

^^^ I dont drink water either, and have been trying to train myself to drink it.

Re: Homemade Face Masks

well if it's somethign that's been life long and nothing helps, then just try a really good undereye concealor. i know u dont wear much makeup, but a lil concealor desn't hurt :)

Re: Homemade Face Masks

it used to be acne but there just like small red dots on my skin now, before they were very lumpy and had red or white heads, on my cheek and chin area!
