I am really impressed by your struggle with learning and being all alone…still you succeeded in your college/university education…

I can understand your situation was very different…obviously its very difficult for a child to live without friends fellows and also missing out on fieldtrips and other outdoor activities…it is very stressful indeed…this has made me concentrate more on these parts if I (or anyone else) decide to homeschool…

Moodie Foodie…thankyou for your input!! I have some questions for you

what were the reasons or behavioral changes you have noticed in your kids that made you feel that they need to go to school?
Or was it just you dont want to.supervise them.for sometime so that they can become independant?

Honestly, I feel they have a hard time seeing me as anything more than a mother. They love to learn but they distract each other so much that a 15 minute lesson takes a good half hour. Then there is the whining and complaining why I chose someone first or who went first last time. We go over rules of sharing anf taking turns but at the end of the day… its mama hear Obviously vs. The cubs. They just turned five so I don’t expect them to not be kids but it is the constant cajoling and maanaying they need that made me realize that they need to be in a learning setting other than home. Also the independence is another issue for me, I want them to be more independent. I live in a joint family system and I want them to learn to be around grandparents, parents who mostly indulge them. I want them to see and know that in a different setting, you need to be reponsible for your own actions, take cues to listen, learn and adjust accordingly. (I am not saying home schooled kids are not well adjusted… This is just something I want for MY kids)

Do you think your kids are learning(not taking good grades but learning)more at school than they can by being at home? No not necessarily, people are amazed how much my little one knows. We got a package for the things they need to know and things they will be learning in kindergarten and half of the things they will be learning, they already know. I’m putting them in part time but I plan to still work with them and their syllabus and just keep things spiced up for them. You can always learn more.

What are the changes in Your and Your Kid’s daily routines after admitting them.to.school?

I haven’t put them in yet so don’t know.
