Re: home made kulfi ice cream

is there any other way to make it if you don't have the icercream machine?

you can make it without the ice cream maker. the above recipe looks delicious but i always follow the recipe on www.cookingwithbj.com. i don't stir it frequently like the recipe though...fill the mold and that's it.

Re: home made kulfi ice cream

Nikki baji, I have tried the recipe below sometime back and it came out pretty darn good. The only change I would suggest is when it says add the blended stuff in the whipped cream, basically you fold the blended stuff in the whipped cream.

Re: home made kulfi ice cream

dear ladies,

i have not tried it, without the ice cream maker. but i shall try.

Niksik, following the non maker recipe is just as good. :>

Re: home made kulfi ice cream

wow, thanks for posting dushwari. I like the pineapple touch...I'll have to try it.

Niksik.....my mom just buys the kulfi mix packet from the local desi market. And she adds the mix to the milk and follows the packet instructions. Then she pours the mixture into plastic cups and puts them in the freezer. When the kulfi sets a little bit...my mom inserts a popsicle stick in the center and freezes again. They turn out sooooooooooo good. And we serve kulfi sticks for dessert when we have parties.

My mom runs the kulfi cups through warm water so that the guests will have an easier time pulling them out of the cup. And she serves them. You should try it. It will be a hit! And you don't need an ice cream maker for this.
