My parents grow.........corriander, mint, cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce, courgette (zuccini), bay leaves, cherries, green beans and apples!
And all this is the UK. I love the home grown tomatoes they are are lovely and i love picking bay leaves fresh from the garden to use in desi cooking.

since the season is so short, it lasts a couple of months...its enuf for our consumption...it's more fun than the yield. looking at the 'veggies of your labour' is so much bliss :)

CB we lived by the sea for 15 years (east anglia) literally could see the sea from my window and in that house we grew tomatoes, mint, corriander, cucumbers, courgettes, grapes and bay leaves so if we can do it so can you!
We now live much much more inland but still have managed to keep up alll the veges. Ill get the tips of my mum and report back to you.
Mint and corrainder are easy to grow....i grow them in my uni room in a pot by the window....just keep them well watered
Re: Home Grown Sabzi’s
Ohhhh meee gossh .. yessss please .. can you also tell me the process from the start .. like how big the pots you choose to grow this stuff .. the compost you use and where to get the mint and corriander plant to get them going … I will love you forever , please help me on this

Re: Home Grown Sabzi’s
I growed some sabzian in my backyard a couple of years ago and posted some pictures , it is too much work. :bummer:
Didn’t do it afterward. I am working on starting a sqarefoot garden , which seems to require less attention. One of my neighbors does it and I am inspired by the results she achieved.
Here you can find more details about squaefoot gardening: http://www.squarefootgardening.com/
Re: Home Grown Sabzi's
Ever since I can remember we have always grown our own vegetables. We grow tomatoes, jalapenos, bell peppers, serrano peppers, cilantro, mint, eggplants, 'kudos', 'karela'-bitter gourd, corn, sugar canes, cucumbers and thar/taar? (type of cucumber)
Every year they will try to grow okra.....but that never makes it. We also have tons of fruits trees. My parents live for this kind of stuff.
Its actually sad because this year the rain won't stop coming and both of them are afraid that some of their sabzi won't make it.
