Home exercises

It may not be practical for everybody to go to the gym. What exercises can one do in the comfort of ones own home without any equipment?

Re: Home exercises

hmm,, bye cds of Aerobics and several different exercises.. that works for some ppl..

Re: Home exercises

you can do pushups....all kinds of exercises for abs..such as situps..

calf raises...etc..

Re: Home exercises

You could also do leg raises while resting flat on the floor. You can sit against a wall. You can have your hands on a sofa or bed or worktop or something and have your legs stretched out and then do push ups with your arm while your head is pointed towards your feet. Lay flat on the floor on your stomach and then lift lift your head, arms and legs. You can also do aerobic exercises.

Any others?

Re: Home exercises

There is so much variety only in pushups.

If you keep the distance between your hands too much (to the extent possible), it is exercise for your shoulder.

If your bring your hands closer, it is for outer chest.

If you join your hands, it is exercise for inner chest.

If you place your feet on the chair, or on the wall, it is exercise for wings.

Meanwhile your biceps and triceps also develops.

Re: Home exercises

^^ absolutely!... i was gonna write that...

Re: Home exercises

very true...

Re: Home exercises

If you have cable and On Demand, then there is a free exercise channel with tons of workouts ranging from simple warm ups to pilates and yoga and specific toning exercises.

One could also invest in a workout DVD and follow a simple routine.

Both the above have worked well for me as I am a busy mom. But I do make time for 30 mins, 3-4 times a week to do some exercise. Keeps me sane and happy!

Re: Home exercises

umm,, if u live in a big house.. then going up and down stairs is the best exercise..

Re: Home exercises

Some of the exercises that can be done at home:

Push-ups

Sit-Ups

If you have stairs, stair steps can somewhat replace cardio.

Walking around for an average of 15-20 minutes is a very good exercise. Can be done whenever.
