home budget

Who run the house whther u or ur husband?
How do u divide the all income? whether more on food & outing or dress and other thngs?

What i hv found in cousin home: her hus run the home, give her money for shopping,
they spend more on eatng and outing. she dont buy much dress or shoes nt herself and children. couple of dresses she has made that she wear at home or outside, and only one shoe in winter,
in short i wanna knw how do u manage?

Re: home budget

there are a couple of different threads around here about similar topic.

It totally depends on the couple, their income and their expenses/lifestyle.
After having kids I have not shopped a lot for myself, mostly because I do not get time to shop around.
We both run the house. I usually do kids shopping and he mostly does the groceries. He pays utilities and I pay TV, cell phone bills. If we have some major expense coming up, we decide what to do or whre to spend from.
We eat out and go out as well.

home budget

Me and my hubby have our income come into one account and all of our direct debits go out from there too like mortgage, bills, tax and when we go shopping /eat out we use that too. Anything left over we save.

Personally I don't like the "u pay this and I'll pay that" what's mine is his and what's his is mine :)

Re: home budget

in my case, I am so bad with the finances .. I let my husband deal with the money side of things so automatically its his planning on how much to spend .. I just let him know what we need in the kitchen and the home and he plans and gets them at the right time ...

Re: home budget

She is the finance minister and I am PA to finance minister...

We have joint checking account and everything goes in there from where it get distributed b/w bills, grocery, mortgage etc. Rest goes to saving (we both have individual saving accounts)

How do we stay on top of numbers? budget etc? by using software (Ms Money) I am using that for last 12-13 years and at any point we can see how are we doing on budget and where are we spending money. We have record of almost every dollar we have spent (except for 2k-3k that was have spent in cash here and there over last 12 years)
