home-based designers lahore

does anybody know of any GOOD home-based designers in lahore? my range is 4-5 lakhs and im looking for some one who has intricate neat work. most of the designers in lahore or in pak in general( even well-known) do not have nice finishings , while designers like FTA, sania maskatiya, Elan, faraz manan, shehla chatoor, ammarah khan who do have good work, will not work in this range. their range for good bridals usually starts from 6-7.

I can’t seem to compromise on the quality of the bridal day outfit atleast , but considering my budget, i cant order from the high-end designers either sigh. anybody out there who knows of some lady working from home who has good kaarigar and would do pretty much the same quality work as elan or faraz manan ?

Re: home-based designers lahore

Check out Aroos e Khaas in Empire Center. She's not home-based and has been around for over 20 years. Range for bridals starts upwards of 200K. Her finish is impeccable / style is traditional with tightly knotted dabka. To contact her, you have to first go to her shop in Empire Center .. See a few of the semi formals in person and if the style appeals to you, ask her assistant to set up an appointment with her.

Also, check out Tabya - she can be found on Facebook. Her clothes are a fusion of traditional work and fabrics with contemporary cuts. A decent bridal from her is around 350-400K last time I checked.

Lahore based too.

Re: home-based designers lahore

your range is pretty decent. why dont you opt for lesser commercialized designers that have beautiful work instead of home based 'designers' who make replicas and imo, never do justice to the original outfit.
I had a really good experience with such a designer but unfortunately shes from khi. You can look up Ayesha Yousaf, Shirin hasan, Suffuse etc... i think they are from lahore. OR you can also place an order with Tena Durrani, Farah Talib Aziz, Nida Azwer, Sania Maskatiya... Im sure you'll find something gorgeous!

Re: home-based designers lahore

thanks a lot everyone!
@happilyeverafter : that's precisely what i meant by home-based, not really looking for replicas, and i think FTA's range is above mine, unless i go for something very simple with her. I will check out the other designers you mentioned ! :)

thankyou prototype and catwalk , ill check out your collection too :) @em2san, could you please give me a link to tayyaba's fb page ? , ill def pay a visit to empire centre when i go back home!

@aaw91

Here you go, Tabya’s page Facebook

There is another designer I like, though I think she is Karachi based - she might be able to work with your budget if you like her style http://umshaofficial.com/product/heavily-embellished-jacket/

Re: home-based designers lahore

There are other designers that will work with you in that budget! Check Rani Emaan! they're awesome!

Re: home-based designers lahore

Rani Emaan and Asifa & Nabeel definitely
Rana Noman and sana safinaz might also be in your range...
Give them a call and ask for quotes...
And if say someone's starting range is 600, ask it they can work with 500
Or maybe go through there fbs...email them some pics and ask for prices and if they can work witg with you to fit your budget etc
I did it for a friend.. Some were very prompt with their replies

Re: home-based designers lahore

I am a home based designer too, however, I am also stocking at Labels Lahore, Vogue towers. I have made several bridals in this range, this range is perfect for heavy bridals in pure fabrics with beautiful swarovski crystal detailing.
Attaching few of my recent bridals.

your budget is decent. why dont you try shiza hasan/ shirin hasan/ ushma by uzma babar/ mohsin naveed ranjha/ suffuse

Re: home-based designers lahore

OMG umsha is the WORST. I messaged them about an engagement outfit for $1000-1200 and they REFUSED. Said they couldn't make anything in that range. Wtf who do they think they are?!

FTA could work in 5lac from what I've heard. Even Sania!

Re: home-based designers lahore

hmm not the first time I have heard something negative about Umsha, however her clothes are fabulous!

Re: home-based designers lahore

I live abroad and was looking for reasnably price designers- i searched Aroos e Khaas, but the website I found says its in Baber Market on karachi road- is that where Empire Center is?

Thanks

Update: Aroos e Khaas is in Empire Center, Main Boulevard, Lahore. But I would not recommend them anymore. The experience started off well but then they asked for more money than the original quotation and insisted that the cost estimate had made it clear there was a basic cost and then extras (I don’t think that the piping of dupatta should ever be considered an add-on) The quality of work was beautiful but the selection of fabric and color combinations: not so much!
