Hey guys,
I have heard a lot of people going to home-based designers in lahore and karachi for their bridal clothes and jahez clothes. They seem to charge a lot more than u would have to pay at regular shops… one even charged 1 Lakh for a very simply wedding outfit.
Has anyone had any experience and with them and is it worth your time?
Do you think it’s overpriced for no reason or it is actually worth your money?
Please do share
Re: Home-based designers....any good?
i had mine made from a home-based designer. she did a freakin' fantastic job and i was really happy, and she charged me reaaalllyyy reasonable rates... so maybe it depends on whom you go to?
Re: Home-based designers....any good?
did she take really long though? a friend of mine got hers done from somebody.... not only did she keep increasing her rates... but she also took more than 2 months to complete the work (which was a lot longer than her given time frame and her wedding dress was completed 2 days before her wedding!) plus the outcome i thought was quite average so not sure if its worth paying the extra money
Re: Home-based designers....any good?
here i tell u some points,,first of all home made designers r for those ppl who hv shortage of time in their regular life or some ppl like they go frm abroad n hv really short time 4 making their dresses,,,so if u hv plenty of time then u can hv so many ideas from fashion magazines or gud shops in pakistan 4 dresses n they do very gud job,,homemade designers just do copy the magazine's designs or actually wat they take a bit fatigue to earn money,n u ppl pay them alooot alot more than.n ppl just hv mentally satisfaction the outfit we r wearing is frm designer so in every case its luking super.
Re: Home-based designers....any good?
no wayy..they r no good..they get their inpirations from these bridal magazines..copy cats..n charge u for nothin..so it wud be better if u go through these magazines all by urself ..pick the designs n colors u like n then evaluate..n go to these markets whr they have thse karigars n tailors n get it made ..the outcome would be wayy better than these home based aunties..or just go to a well established designer..never get ur stuff made fr these aunties plzz..they rip u off for ordinary designs ..personally i would never wear these sort of things..

yeah, that was a bit of a situation but maybe more to do with the fact that i wasn't in pakistan and therefore couldn't bug her about the timing more... i bugged my contact here plenty though. i placed the order at the beginning of march, and received my clothes in the first week of july.
