LAHORE: Senior police and provincial administrative officers were probably involved in the theft of the ‘holy slippers’, believed to have belonged to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), according to a report of a joint investigation team (JIT) forwarded to the higher authorities a week ago.
The Punjab government has recently announced a reward of two million rupees for information leading to the recovery of the holy slippers, which were stolen from the Badshahi mosque’s archives gallery on July 31, 2002…

cuz they know muslim sentiments attached to them....
there was once an attempt made to remove the body of Prophet Muhammad (saw) from his grave and then sell it back to the muslims....
the criminals were caught before they cud reach the grave thru their underground tunnel....
greed can make ppl do so many things....
or it cud be a misguided person who thinks having those slippers with him in his grave will save him from the punishment of his sins....
wont help him a single bit....
There's a big difference between removing a body from a grave, and stealing material artifacts from a museum, armughal. I wouldn't equate the two. The former was horrific and disgusting (there's another word, can't think of it), and the latter is just plain stupid and silly.
