Help!! Im only 9 weeks and the heartburn is killing me, I only had bad nausea for probably 2 days which dissappeared and hopefully it won’t come back. But because of the heartburn I cant eat anything, all I wanna do is drink really cold milk! Ive tried gaviscon but that doesn’t help at all.
Edit* What makes things worse is I start a new job on Monday and they have no clue about my pregnancy, I really don’t want these symptoms to effect my work.
I’m in the same boat. Heartburn gets only worse in the 2nd and 3rd tri because of baby being bigger and higher up. It’s horrible!!!
After solely relying on tums I finally asked my doctor to give me something stronger. She suggested zantac. Didn’t work. So she suggested zantac AND pepcid. Didn’t work again At my next appointment I’ll be asking for something stronger as this is getting really bad. It even wakes me up from my sleep and I feel like crying!!! Meanwhile taking zantac and pepcid as well as popping tums every time I get heartburn is the only thing I can do.
Eat frequently but in small quantities & slowly. Like properly chew your food with closed mouth. This way less air goes in our mouth & properly chewed food is less likely to cause acid reflux.
Avoid oily & spicy foods. Try to eat more fresh veggies & fruits. They won’t cause any heart burn. For some women sprite/7 up with a little sprinkle of salt helps as well. Just drink half a cup though otherwise too much soda can make matters worse.
Hang in there. It might go away after your first trimester. But will most likely be back by third.
I also had horrible heartburn when i was pregnant and just like you mentioned it used to wake me up from my sleep. My doc also prescribed Zantac the mistake i made was taking zantac and tum together to get rid of the heartburn quick but instead it made it worst. Only take zantac twice a day and it should help do not take any other medicine for heartburn and it should work.
Missy cold milk also used to provide me with temporary relief try drinking that right before you go to bed and make sure you use big pillows to keep your head elevated i felt that made a difference as well.
I had horrible heartburn thru out but eating chilled apples are a temporary relief. I used to eat tums. It literally was unbearable but eat small meals. Don’t lie down after you eat. I used to walk after eating to keep it down. It didn’t always work. Hang in there. Hopefully it will get better. Hugs
