holocaust & muslims

i was in the holocaust museum the other day and it was sad to see such a big atrocity carried so swiftly by one nation. the images and clips of kids and women perishing in those gas chambers and humiliating them by shaving their heads is something u dont see everyday. it was not a pretty site. however, i didnt know if i should be grinning with the fact that these are jews and are islam’s number one enemy. or should i be grateful that i sympathized with the holocaust survivors there? having a lack of a strong viewpoint on the issue, my emotions were left in jeopardy.

how did the muslim community react to this in the late '40s?

Re: holocaust & muslims

Muslims were fighting the Germans.

Re: holocaust & muslims

lives of innocent people regardless of religion is nothing to be grinning about.

Re: holocaust & muslims

How can you even think that Islam would want you to be happy about something like the Holocaust? They suffered a lot and we need to see it as a life lesson and try to prevent anything like that from happening again.

How would you feel when people would laugh if we were put into that situation? And I don't think we're far from the time where it would happen, either.

Re: holocaust & muslims

I'm surprised that we even have to ask these type of questions. No one can condone Holocaust no matter the current political situation.

And I disagree that Jews are Islam's enemy. It is dictators and mullahs who are our enemy.

Re: holocaust & muslims

I think you are not watching the innocent butchered by the bloody jews in lebanon & palestine (present & past; by past means after WWII).

I dont feel like condoning the holocaust, it was just an excuse for putting the jews on arab land. Hitler just made a slight mistake, he should have set all of them on fire, not just a few.

Re: holocaust & muslims

The reason why so many people are against mullah's is because you cannot read what jews have to say about Muslims. Do you even know for a fact that there is a jewish segment, that say that EVERY non jew is an animal, do you even know that??? Definitely no.

Re: holocaust & muslims

How much do you know about Jews and the history (history that starts from BC to the Prophet Mohammad PBUH to the crusades to the 19-20th to the 21st century). And you will know the answer.

I somewhat agree with you on dictators and Mullahs. I guess a lot (not all) of these people were/are really dangerous for the muslim community.

Re: holocaust & muslims

how can anyone be happy at the death and torture of innocent ppl. I am simply lost for words here..

This is just too much.

Re: holocaust & muslims

I don't Muslim countries paid any special attention to it, since they were not involved with it in any way. The only fully independent Muslim countries during World War 2 were Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan. Iran was occupied by the Allies. Egypt, Iraq, and Transjordan were under effectively British control.

Re: holocaust & muslims

I do lnot ike to mention but as a muslim we should be aware of what it is in us that other people are against. Astughfirullah, the jews call our Prophet SAW the prophet of doom. This should indicate at what level jews hold muslims in their relationship with us. Islam has nothing against any of the Prophets and it is the people who have deserved the blame for portraying the Prophets of their religions into what they are not.

However no matter how foul a non-muslims belief may be against us we are required to deal with them justly and ensure our own conduct is righteous. We hate them for twisting the truth and misguiding people not because of their ethinicity or race. This is the one of the most difficult things to achieve, when you are aware what kind of thoughts the person in front of you has but yet to treat the person with justice and give him his due rights and also try to guide him to the truth. It is easy to shun the jews but think of it this way, the more you shun misguided people the more you are repelling people from the truth of Islam.

albanian and bosnian muslims did their duty in WW2 fighting with the germans who were against the powerhungry brits and french…
the traitors amongst the muslims fought with their colonial masters..esp those from the subcontinent

Re: holocaust & muslims

^^

Muslim POWS the Germans captured from the Soviet Army also volunteered to fight for Germany in order to try and defeat communism.

And 4,000 Indians of all religions including Muslims served in the SS as the Free Indian Legion.

At any rate, Britain got most of its Indian volunteers only after the Muslim League enthusiastically supported the war effort, using the opportunity to gain influence and drive the Pakistan cause.

If Germany or Japan had liberated the subcontinent from colonian , they would have simply installed the anti-partition Subash Bose as the ruler of India. In fact, they had him heading an Indian government-in-exile.

Which means that if the Muslims from the sub-continent had not fought for their colonial master, Pakistan would have been very unlikely to emerge and all of India's muslims would be living under Hindu rule, backed by the Japanese and German armies.

Indian legion was not known for its fighting abilities

Indian muslims even supported the brits in WW1 when they fought against their own muslim brothers …so the excuse that they did it for pakistan is not very valid
Even if Germany and Japan had won the war I doubt they would have cared who was in power as long as the brits were not.
Only reason they suppoorted Bose was because he was the only leader willing to cooperate with them (AFAIK) …if muslim leaders had shown willingness they would have been welcomed…but Prince Aga khan and others like him were always ready to back the british even against the turks
Germans simply did not have the kind of resources to devote any manpower to keep an unpopular ally ( like Bose) in power in a country as big as India
Most likely India would have had a civil war

Re: holocaust & muslims

iv heard some muslims say it dint occur
or others beign happy aboutt itt
but thats ignorant ...thoz ppl were innocent!

Re: holocaust & muslims

Holocaust was a very tragic event of human sufferings. Islam does not permit killing of innocent jews. In fact Islam provides protection to Jews and their rights after all Quran calls them people of book.

Re: holocaust & muslims

These statements are way more preposterous than what sami rehman had to say.

Re: holocaust & muslims

And the Muslim leaders such as Jinnah, Prince Aga Khan and the rest of the Muslim League leadership who chose to back Britain were proven by history to have made the right choice.

Within 2 years of the war ending, they were rewarded for their loyal support of the British war effort by the creation of the Dominion of Pakistan, completely free of British control and influence.
