Who told you to convert mere bhai? Did anyone put a gun to your head and forced you to listen to anyone preaching Islam, to read anything related to Islam? No. All the converts converted because they wanted to. Kar lo jo karna hai. The Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, they aren’t just sitting quiet, they too are trying to bring people to their religion. So if you want to hate Islam because muslims try to spread the message of God then please do hate on all other religions too because they are doing the same.

Hareem, you’re right in your view which is different to that of the immature youth, especially the ones in the west. The method that you speak of is ofcourse a noble one but it would probably be too boring for them even though this was Prophet saw’s way of teaching (I’m keeping my younger brother in mind while writing this). So the learned ones try to spark their interest with these updated methods of teaching.

I wonder what sort of message they’re giving out to the youngsters? I’d never let my kids watch such things, you can watch Vin Diesel’s movie but you can’t watch someone using Vin Diesel’s movie as a tactic to make you closer to God. That’s just contradictory.

What do you mean so angry? I just asked a simple question. Why are you running away from the discussion or you just don’t know what to say?

So what makes you think that other ulema are not doing their best because their method is traditional? Are you talking about South Asian alims or Western ones?

That’s okay but I was genuinely interested in knowing what Ulemas you’re actually talking about. You always say the same thing about traditional alims being not in reach of common people but you never explain more than that.

what you will gain with rise in number of converts? This is the kind of mentality in islam which I hate. all you think of is muslim,islam…not about being a human first.

Haven’t you been ranting un-necessarily lately ? If Muslims are happy with converting into their religion what is your problem with that. You want to take away that right from Muslims too ?
If we care about our religion and our brothers in religion what is wrong with that also ? Islam teaches humanity first and the whole emphasis of Islam is on creating a society of better human beings.

Here is my question…If there is only one god and that is allah then who created people from other religion? Either there is another god or only allah did.
We say everything is made by god in this world so all the religion are made by him. Will anyone say i love my youngest kid but not the elder one?

There may not be an intention to convert anyone just educate those who ask question. So don’t worry. You have unnecessary anxiety.

No one says people of ‘other’ religion are children of evil.
If smeone says that that is not islamic.

Muslims believe there is only one deen or one best religion among many religions.

Non-mulsims say their religions are the best.

Why single out muslims?

To your last sentence, even parents do discriminate among their children based on what they do. Try not to deny that.

Just watched this video on FB (someone posted it there). I’m a bit disturbed now after watching it. Yeah I get it, the title is catchy but why do they have to come up with Hollywood inspired titles for selling Islam?

And this is actually a good scholar and I have listened to his lectures in past but I don’t understand the sudden change in his style?

Am I the only one who thinks this is pure weirdness and actually a bit insulting to Islamic teachings? What are we going to see next, Taraweeh Impossible or Meet the Imams?

Well, being a part of the old guard of the new generation of Muslims being raised in the Muslm world, I can say in general no, we’re not that obtuse. But humor does go down well…and does gather one’s attention. Reminds me of the popularity of the youtube series “Diary of a Bad Man” among the newer generations of the new generation…
