There r star in the making like Ballack, Deisler, Metzelder, Klose, Kuranyi and more ...... if u follow the UEFA Champions League u'll see a Stuttgart with young guns (mostly unknown) easily upsetting MANU, Rangers, Pan. Athens ..... & more to come ..... German football is going through it's revival and soon u'll see that in the Nat. Side also

Saby u r talking about Klinsmann and Mattheus ..... well yes there was flair and passion whenever they were on th pitch ..... but u've to agree it'll take time to unearth and develope yet not totally replacing them ..... but hopefully somewhere close to them ...... 2006 will be the ultimate test for this young side ...... u ppl are talking about attractive play ..... then u better root for Holland and Spain but the two most successful European teams todate are for sure Germany and Italy ....
[/QUOTE]
Italy are a far more attacking side than Germany and their Defence is pretty strong too, I mean i would have said same thing about Italy had thier midfield play was not so attractice, they play technical and they Can be aggressive when they wish to. Thats what Germans were lacking even against France, they were 3-0 down and the team who was constantly attacking was still France, Germanyw as just playing for damage limitations...
By 2004 or 2006 if they show progress and thier young guns shine, i will have no problems rooting for them if they start playing with flair and passion,

Holland Holland Holland Hollllland! :k:

i wouldn't say i'm a neutral fan - i do support Germany and behind them definately the United States.
Okay so Germany don't play "Attractice Soccer" these days (and no faggot jokes hey?) but i still do support them. Michael Ballack is possibly the world's best midfielder but barring him i would say that also Oliver Kahn is also a world class player but i guess seeing as he is the keeper it doesn't really work out. I would say the days of Matthus and Lothar playing are now well gone - their era is over. Germany now have to look to the future and if this is the way then so be it.
There is a new player coming through the ranks and he is amazingly talented and clever with the ball - i can't remember his name but he's a 19 year old kid and he's great.
But yeah i do also like watching more "Attractive" play too.

there were some very good points in ur post, but pleaaaaase don't forget Zizou here. in the current era noone can even stand in his shadow
Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo … u can consider urself lucky that u had to face Scotland … easy picking … but once in the tournament u’ll mess up … for sure … take a look in to history …
^Holland Holland Holland!
individually Holland has far more class than Germany, and hopefully Advocaat can bring the boys together so they can also shine at Euro2004
with respect to the future Holland got some major talents braking through: Van der Vaart, Sneyder, Robben. And also players like Van Nistelrooij, Kluivert have a lot of yrs to go.
Only point of concern in the defense and defensive midfield
class that fails to produce results when it matters the most

The main concern for them would be the unity, they have been seriuosly hampered by internal rifts and superstar status. Virtually every member of the team is a star in his own right and thus manager has difficulties handling them, as happened when Ruud was substitiued and he protested...
Defence, well i think thats the only point of concern gamewise. Otherwise this team has the ingredients to topple every team, and individual class to raise the game when needed.
But the only concern would be putting-it-all-together when it matters,

When u r not able to defend then even with the best striker line up (Raul, Ronaldo, Ronaldhino, Van Nistelrooy, Makaay etc. etc.) u r unable to win a match ...... germany has used it's possibilities to high effeciency ...... in WC2002 u won't find (except tha Saudi match) where germany scored 3 goals ...... they scored mostly one goal that carried them through because they played at nill thanks to the midfield defence + the defensiv line and a superb keeper .....
U ppl like an attractive play then better not follow matches with german participation ...... better watch Spain and Holland .....
When your backs on the wall, a team has to produce high attacking football to score goals ,alongwith strong defense. And Germany right now does not have what it takes to score conssitently.
I tell you, i watched that Germany-France friendly with keen interest anticipating a close game but it was sooooo irritating to see France leading 3-0 and still attacking and Germany Still defending while trailing. It should have been otherwise.

because it's just a friendly and not in a tournament .... have u seen the pathetic departure of France form WC2002 ???? with the zidanes and the Henrys the pires etc. etc. ...... or Hollands departure from the Euro 2000 despite having one of the best Teams on paper !!!!!!! like Spain
agreed, Germany did a terrific job by qualifying for the World Cup final. It was a gr8 acheivement, but how much more a good game it wud be if in the final it was France, Italy, Argentina or Holland against BRazil
yes i saw that pathetic departure. I dont liek France team that much either but they atleast went out trying to score goals....
and you talk about a friendly? What hapopend in WC final. Germany was trailing 2-0 and even then Brazin was easily playing the game in German Half.
yes Germany plays workman like game, but still no justification of players not moving forward when needed....
I hope seriuosly that Germans change thier game a little bit in Euro 2004 and f they do, i will surely include them in my favorities :D

i hope they won't change their system for the defence line but the midfield could operate a bit more offensive attitude which will give the stiker more opportunities to score a goal or two
^^ Exactly just a bit more attacking approach wont hurt and change the body lingo too in crisits times

have u seen the Paraguay vs. France match in WC '98 ...... it was a game which took place only in the half of Paraguay but France scored in the 118th !!! minute (the socalled golden goal)...... so much for attacking play .....
every one was talking about destructive and not defensive play by the Paras ..... but man they were close to upset france .....
I know it's not attractive but come on it's effective ..... when france play Spain or Holland then it's attractive but not effective
