Holidays

How many of you regularly go on holidays ( Pakistan does not count )?

I have never been on ‘holiday’. Never.

I envy the Canadians and Americans cuz their own bleemin backyrd is so expansive they could spend forever trekking around it.

I want to go see the Grand Canyon, now :frowning:

Re: Holidays

arrhh...The Grand Canyon was the one place i always wanted to visit

The Grand Canyon and Luray Caverns, and i know iv missed that chance for ever now.

iam sad now..

Re: Holidays

Been going for holidays regularly. Didn't go last year because of being busy with some projects. This year I haven't planned so far.

Re: Holidays

Lake District, Wales, Cornwall, Scotland. England has it all too and now I really regret not seeing it all while I could sigh

Re: Holidays

Not regularly.....if you mean annually.
But it has become more of a practice since I got married.
I used to make everyday a holiday before settling down....... ;)

Re: Holidays

I normally go on holiday once or twice a year. So far this year, I have gone no where. :( I seriously need to get on a plane somewhere within the next few months.

I've been to the Grand Canyon twice. It's stunning ... truly breathtaking.

Re: Holidays

Never been anywhere xcept Pak (and florida to visit bro n bhabhi) :(

Re: Holidays

I go on holiday at least 3 times a year

Once in easter vacations

once to Pakistan, aug/sept time

once in winter to europe or dubai

so far ive been to barcelona in jan and egypt in easter...Pak is the next one to come at the end of summer.....

Re: Holidays

I'm like you Mehnaz i go on holiday one or twice a year...or really when ever i feel the need to get away for some relaxation.

Been recently to Switzerland, France many times, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Tunisia (which was rubbish by the way) and the Seychelles.

This coming summer inshallah once my finals are out of the way I plan on either a roadtrip through the US with friends or a 5 week tour of the Far East.

Re: Holidays

Grand Canyon is nice, but I found Bryce Canyon in Utah more beautiful and breathtaking. I would also recommend other National Parks in Utah: Arches and CanyonLand. Lake Powell is also worth visiting, it is just North of Grand Canyon.

Re: Holidays

Really why do you say that?

Not so much out of the country but i’m lucky to live in california where you can take so many day/weekend trips to beautiful beautiful places. I have grand plans for the future though.

Re: Holidays

I've been to Tunisia (Carthage) and loved it. They even had Halal meat there :)

WaSalaam

Re: Holidays

I used to go somewhere every year when in school but now in “real life” it has become infrequent due to work, family visits etc etc

So I have created an oasis in my backyard with a jhula and lots of flowers (by the way I am fighting rabbits these days and there seems to be no end in sight

Re: Holidays

Belle: Really why do you say that?

Because apart from the beach, there wasn't much to do and the night scene was non existant, no clubs and no places of entertainent.

Re: Holidays

My father used to take us a lot when we were young during our school vacations. One one trip, we hit up Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and California but I was only 7 at the time so I don't remember anything. Another time on our way to Pakistan, we stopped for a week in Europe so that was nice too. So Mashallah we've traveled to a lot of nice places, and there's so much more I want to see. Dubai being a top stop. If anyone gets a chance to travel, they should definitely go. Worthwhile experiences

Re: Holidays

I've been spending quite a few vacational trips in different places. The majority of my holidays was still spent in Pakistan though.

But I think it's important to see other places as well, as far as it's possible.

Re: Holidays

i try to take holidays as often as i could, i've taken holidays to Germany, England, States(numerous times), and around Canada.
haven't been anywhere this year yet, but i am going to pak and dubai in winter.
