Holiday work party - How do I pull off this dress?

Dress code is cocktail chic. Can I make this dress work with black footed tights? (and a blazer?) or will it be too much?

or should I return it while I still can… argh why is this so hard to shop for a dress and then desi-fy it… =(

Black footed tights, a fitted black blazer (or even navy blue/grey would look fab, sometimes even an embellished fitted cardigan can work if it has a formal flare) sparkly shoes and a pretty necklace and you are sorted. That is pretty much my 'how to halal-ify a dress in 4 steps' guide for every sleeves short dress I've ever bought.

Pretty much everything KP mentioned but i'd say definitely stick with a darker cardigan/blazer to keep with the chic look, a grey would look to business-like.

Yup definitely black nylon tights with boots/or suede booties.

Don't do a blazer....But an embellished cardigan instead....I saw so many on jcpenny's website few days ago.

a pretty bolero jacket, blk/blue tights and heels. if you are keeping your silhouette monochromatic ... then add a pop of color with a clutch or statement earrings etc ...

I personally wouldn't do a cardigan with this dress because it looks too dressy in my opinion and a cardigan would make it look more casual and take away that element from the dress. If the dress wasn't that material, then yes a cardigan would look good.

I would opt for a fitted blazer instead. I think black tights and really cute black booties would tie it up nicely. You can opt for nice accessories if you wish.
