A very sad day for me. But i advocate Pakistan to quit international hockey to preserves its precious record in the sports rather than going down and down!

yes, it's indeed sad for India and Pakistan that, being the best in this game in the world, have lost their position due to artificial turf and more like 'hit N run' type of game being played by the Europeans and Australians. there was a time when subcontinent Hockey was more like an art form of sport. dribbling, controlling the ball, soft goals were the hallmark of the Indo-Pakistani Hockey. now, it's more about stamina of Europeans VS the artistic game of the sub-continent.

Aren't supporters in general to blame as well? We all make cricketers our gods and remember hockey players only after their dismal performances in tournaments.
The hockey federation does not even have a decent website, let alone synthetic turfs or coaching equipment.

there are also center forwards.
Cant compete with cricket though. Batsmen often like a glance down the fine leg.

One should not paint all batsmen with a broad brush. While some - such as VVS Laxman never missed a chance to glance up or down a fine leg, others such as Sunil Gavaskar did what any modest batsman would - lowered their eyes as a fine leg passed by and went for the straight drive.
