Both India and Pakistan lost their matches in an 8 team extended CT tournament! Otherwise they would have not been playing perhaps! Hockey continues to decline in the sub-continent.

It seems that group matches wont eliminate teams and are used to decide the QF positions - very unlike previous champions trophies!
And the surprise of the day was India defeated Netherlands

The crowd have been thronging the stadium for all the games it seems. Good move by the Hockey India to hold such prestigious trophy in a second tier city - gets the attention it deserves!

PK hockey at it worst . One goal by english player , he dogded two player holding stick single handedly .
Other teams are toying them...... so sad. Good I am not watching the matches

As I said Pakistan even did not qualify for the last world cup, so they should have not been in the CT as well. I do not know why PHF sent them - only to destroy Pakistan's hockey great record.

Another surprise of the tournament - Pakistan won 4-2 against the Dutch! Or is the Dutch team who is not up to what they supposed to be!

seems netherlands got bribed by the tourney officials. Only team being beaten by both India and Pk though being top in pool B

Hoping against hope that these tired legs will win the SF ( I will be very very happy if they proof me wrong ) . Really the way english players were toying them I being ex hockey player felt ashamed.
