We all them to dwell on the negative. I thought it would be nice to read some positive thoughts from you guppies!

What do you guys do in your spare time? Please dont go on about how buzy you are as a mother, wife, parent etc..

Lets see what kind of extra-ciricular things my fellow guppies get up to?

I love travelling, reading books/articles, volunteering and spending time on here! :smiley:

Making scrapbooks
Paint
Makeovers on people

Because of my studies I sadly don't have time to everything.

Started reading from some time, started violin classes but now days taking break from them, finished a job related course/training that was going on from 2 months, thinking of starting Arabic learning classes and pottery classes too.

I try to keep myself busy..... dont have any one hobby in particular.

If I listed all my hobbies I would come across as a very farigh person :-

  1. watching birds and wildlife - including visiting nature reserves and natural areas

  2. travelling - could be to pakistan which i visit on average every 18 months, a few other countries or even locally in the UK

  3. photography

  4. Hiking, trekking and walking

  5. visiting historical sites, architectural sites and other man-made beauties

  6. reading - mostly about wildlife, places, travelogues andsome current affairs

  7. politics and current affairs - at a local, regional level as well as nationally and internationally

  8. using the internet - Instant messenger, flickr, orkut, facebook, forums.

  9. i love to write and often write about places I have travelled to

  10. listening to music - anything from rock, pop, Asian, dance/electronica, R'n'B especially 90's, 80's music,

When I go on a day out I tend to choose a wildlife rich or a scenic area - in that area I can walk and hike, watch wildlife, trael, take photographs, write about it and have probably read upon the area too. So most of my major interests combine into 1.

i love reading books! i try to read between studying course books and on the way to school and back, i love painting/sketching but i hardly get time for it in free time so i mainly do it during my art classes, and love taking pictures :D

I love driving :D

Also, I'm taking flying lessons and working towards my PPL, other hobbies are shopping if that counts lol and animals.. I would love to start riding again..

I read books usually English classical literature, besides that I have interest in wildlife and nature watching, I love gardening and growing plants from seedlings, I do DIY stuff too, and I'm teaching myself violin and Persian language, I have a keen interest in ancient languages.....I plan to teach myself Latin and Greek in coming years inshallah. Oh and crafts and cooking and working out.

^I tried that few years ago but gave up so soon....there are some good knitting books in Hobbycraft.

2) Watching/Playing Sports
3) Cooking and Gardening

From last couple of months I am planning to get training for lesiure flying. In fact I always wanted to fly. Tried my luck with PAF but failed the medical exam (eye-sight problems). Since then, I switched to RC planes and now I have discoverd many private training school here in Toronto and its not too expensive (5k-7k can get your private pilot license).

Wish me good luck for this!

I love sleeping too.

I also like cooking. I try out experiments, but sometimes my wife doesn’t approve. I was going to try gardening too, but by the time I got ready to setup a garden this year, it was too late (mid July).

Other than that, I’m still a gamer. I like programming too.

problem with cooking is that if I make something really good, begum says bus “AAJ sai yee tum ko hee bananee hai. I dont make it this good” :smack:

She does say that about many things that I cook, but she's still very reluctant to let me cook anything.
