and if sharia was passed in all islamic countries ....

Then they will all look like Mullah-Tullah one-eyed Omar's Afghanistan.

Off course Mr. Chaat poses a rhetorical question. That's like saying "If touchstone was available, my silverware will turn into Gold". So we go back to the days when someone said"

Na 9 mun tail HoGaa, Na Raadha Naachay GGee"

I would like to quote an old family friend who travelled from UK to Pakistan by road a long time ago. When asked how his experience had been, he said:

"Civilisation ends once you enter the muslim countries"

Obviously not many people will agree with this statement cuz one thing we have as a nation is a lot of pride (which stops us from doing a proper "muhaasba"). But if you look at the world today, the muslims countries are the most backward nations (maybe with the exception of Malaysia).

Most people will say that the muslims have abandoned their faith and the answer to all this is sharia. But as I see this world of today, muslims seem to be very religious and the majority of them are practicing muslims- so how is sharia gonna improve our plight?? I think we need to take a good look at the world today and understand how we can adapt ourselves within it.

There are many teachings within islam, but we seem to have prioritised on only the prayer and appearance ones. We have completely ignored the doctrines on social responsibilities and huqooq ul ibaad. You see many namaazi mullahs who have no qualms about ripping off the public/govt/society for personal gains.

Sorry dude, but the most bloodshed and destruction happened in the World Wars in which we weren't present.
Yes "WE" "was" present and in full force. WWI Ottomans were the players on the side of Prussia. While Egyptians, Saudis, and Palis all called in Brits and kicked Ottomans (all the Khalifay) out.

WWII, Mufti-Shufti of Palestine was permanently based in Berlin as "Mid East" advisor of Hitler. Now you know what happens when you make friends with Hitler.

Who supplies arms and ammunition to the poor African countries and rebels to fight life long wars?

It is unfair to concentrate only on "supply side". Did you ever wonder "Who buys arms and ammo to fight life-long wars?

Who has created more conflicts in the world when colonialism of the British, French and the Portugese was ending.
Again a simple minded view of history. Let me give you a couple of examples.

Ottomans in their time, kicked Wahabi A$$es in Hijaz. Later when Khalifay became weak, the same Wahabis went after Ottoman behinds.

Ask a knowledgeable Egyptian and he will give you earful about Ottoman Khalifays.

So my dear, history doesn't start with European expansion. These conflicts have been around from the time of Khalifa hazrat.

Unfortunately people are too impressed with Europeans and they don't bother to read what happened before the "Farangis".

:salam: to all muslims and greetings to others on this board.

dear poster sadzzz: I think your statement is not true in my understanding and that is based on one hadith that I recall in which Prophet of Arabia :saw: mentioned his time to be the best of all times as well as in the light of Quran, where Allah :swt: mentioned Ashab ul Yameen in Surah Waqia to be numerous from the earlier time than later.

And Allah Knows best.

Peace.
