^ you are missing the point AQ.. what I am saying is that I FEEL ashamed if I dun pray normaly and when I am in trouble, make my way to mosque!
lets put it this way... in our daily day life when a person dun contact you for months, and all of sudden he calls you and asks for a favor... what you think of THAT person? :o

IF we have such a mindset then we will never be able to pray to WHOM we should pray no matter what… IN either case, we are at fault.. YOu can find hundreds of ahadeeth that how Allah:swt: loves to see a sinful person returning to Him … and how He moves towards a person faster than the person tries to move towards Him…
I remember a hadeeth commonly used in Friday sermons:
Kullu Bani Adam Al KhattaaooN - Wa Khair Al Khattaeena At-Tawwaaboon
“All Children of Adam (are prone to) make mistakes, and the best among those who make mistakes are the one who seek repentence”
Based on all those ahaadeeth, Iqbal:rehm: said
Motee samajh kaY Shaan-e-Kareemi naY chunn liye
QatraY jo thaY meraY Arq-e-Inf’aaL kaY!

As for Allah, He is the most merciful of all. He says that He will forgive any sin there can be except shirk. Allah sei koee maang kei tau deikhei!

I do not think that it is hypocrisy. You try all your worldly connections. God knows we always come back because after God, who else is there to ask?
Is God not revered as the Beneficient **and **Merciful ?

KK I am in a same boat and I have asked the same question to myself and my parents sooo many times. My mom told me that it doesn't matter...as long as u do back to HIM!
At least something is better than nothing :)

obviously praying constantly and continously should be the norm of our lives; but hum bhoole hue hain, gunaahgaar hain; i think of this too; but i feel happier and content by praying to Him when we're in worldly trouble; and i mention this in my duaa's too! He's the only one we can turn to anytime!!!

Salah, is done for so many purposes, when your going through a rough time, to achieve something in life.
Especially in our school days when we had to pass.
By the way, I feel salah, is worship to Allaah, with thorough humbleness.
My view is perform Salah, so that you you are thankful to Allaah, for creating you, giving the best possible life.
I dont deny other factors to remember Allaah, but praying for a good life, for bad times is for Worldly life a materialistic life.
Perform Salah for an eternal, life thats life after death.
Remember Salah is a physical act.

u're living a LIFE.
LIFE in islam is HARDSHIP and STRUGGLE.
Why? Cuz it makes you realize why you're living life, for the one true God. Allah.
When you turn to him only when you need it, You yourself have realized that There is a God out there.
Keep doing it, theres much guidance within it.
Next time you might not even do a sin.
Turn to Allah EVERY TIME, no matter how much you sin.
Because Imaan is a gift, that turning to Allah in worry is a BLESSING.
SOme people curse him instead...

IMO this is the only reason religion and prayer is made for; when nobody can help you you turn to God for help. It sort of that imaginary friend some children have. It's quite soothing actualy because of the placebo effect.
