hmm

… can a non-muslim say :salam: ??

looks like "aSic sKeel" in artsy. what is it?

Re: hmm

they can if they know but being a muslim the only word we are supposed to return is “WA ALAIKUM” nothing more than that!

At the time of the Prophet (sallallaho alaihe wassallam) the Jews use to greet the Muslims with Assam Alaikum (Death be upon you), the Prophet (sallallaho alaihe wassallam) therefore advised his Companions (radhiallaho anhum) that if it is clear that they have greeted you with Assalaamu’Alaikum (Peace be upon you) then reply with “Wa’alaikum Assalaam (And peace be upon you too) but if they say Assam Alaikum (Death be upon you) or it is not clear if they said Assam… or Assalaam… then reply with Wa’alaikum (And upon you too) .

If I’ve made any mistakes, someone please point them out, thanks.

found out an interesting thing today.

"shalom eleichem" is a hebrew greeting and it means "peace be with you".

So yes..I guess non muslims can say it too.

But in some Islamic countries, non-muslims are prohibited to say 'Assalam O Alaikum'

I think it's an excellent way of attracting more and more people to our religion.. just tell them they are not allowed to wish us well .... unless they convert..
