The real story of what is happening here is perhaps a little more complex.
While all of the news services follow some big plumes of smoke, the real action is in the Bekka valley, and the buffer zone near Israel. No reporters, no cameras, but the Israeli Air Force is laying some hurt on the Hezbullies.
They are flying hundreds of sorties at objectives catelogued over the past six year. They are blowing up warehouses of rockets, homes of Hizbullah officials, meeting places, and anything owned or used by Hizbullah. With overhead images from satellites and drones they have developed hundreds of bomb points. Every day that this goes on, Hizbullah becomes depowered.
What people don't realize is that the radicals of Hizbullah have grown quite old. They have become wealthy and comfortable in Lebanon, and the Israelis are bombing their holdings into oblivion. The Israelis have records of ownership for all of the leaders of Hizbullah. Over the past six years of peace the leaders of Hizbullah have amassed personal fortunes. Those are being eliminated day by day. Every hour that goes by increases the odds that the real government of Lebanon will sieze control of the south, as the whores of Hizbullah are depowered.
72 more hours of conflict and Hizbullah is half of what it was. The longer it takes for pressure to mount for a ceasefire, the more likely Lebanon will have a better balance of power.
