Well they're not really "hoes" but rather attention "hoes".. its a term that means someone whos so starved for attention that they'll do anything (kinda like what a whore/prostitute does, starved for affection/money, that they'll sell their bodies).. i dont think "attention hoe" literally means prostitute

it's usually genetic, but can also be brought on by the early childhood environment. Usually it's attributed to an "unbonded mother relationship" or an "abusive father relationship".
Emotionally, HPDs are like 10 year old children.

HPDs are completely lacking in empathy. If they do show empathy it's all fake and shallow: it's childlike. They treat other people as objects. They also treat their own bodies as commodities to be traded. Hence, they'll use flirtation/seduction as a means of getting what they want: attention, favours, etc. Hence, the term "attention whore": a whore who trades her body for male attention instead of money. Occasionally, they'll trade their bodies for favours (e.g. pay rises, jobs etc).

yesterday there was a schizophrenic lady sitting across from me in the subway. she kept on cursing really loud to an imaginary person telling him to leave her alone. the whole way she was just cursing.... so much so that spit dribbled down her face. some people on the platform banged on her window and showed her the finger, and the rest of them were laughing watching them. when the lady saw the boys bang on her window she almost collapsed with fear and later started shouting even louder. i mean wtf...? she's a sick lady the least u can do is ignore and not curse her for something not in her control!....

usually, prostitutes don't do what they do out of choice... more often than not they're compelled by circumstances to sell their bodies for money. Changing names does not change reality, but I didn't mean any disrespect to HPDs by using the term 'attention hoe'. This is a slang term that all the jerks out there use, they don't even know that the girls they're describing have a personality disorder. I personally prefer Histrionic or Drama Queen. :)

true, but most HPDs are never diagnosed because they are unwilling to change and rigidly believe that they are the most perfect woman on earth. so it's always difficult to say whether someone merely has personality flaws or a full-blown personality disorder.
