Histrionic Personality Disorder is actually a serious condition. Here's a description of a Histrionic:

"When the histrionic is angry, unhappy, disappointed, injured, or hurt - she feels unable to express her emotions sincerely and openly since to do so would be to admit her frailty, her neediness, and her weaknesses. She deplores her own humanity - her emotions, her vulnerability, her susceptibility, her gullibility, her inadequacies, and her failures. So, she makes use of other people to express her pain and her frustration, her pent up anger and her aggression.

She achieves this by mentally torturing other people to the point of madness, by driving them to violence, by reducing them to scar tissue in search of outlet, closure, and, sometimes, revenge. She forces people to lose their own character traits - and adopt her own instead. In reaction to her constant and well-targeted abuse, they become abusive, vengeful, ruthless, lacking empathy, obsessed, and aggressive. ^ HPD affects mostly women.. the equivalent in males is known as Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

It's one thing to say it jokingly but if anyone here is serious about having more than two of these descriptions apply to them, then they need to really do some serious work on themselves.

^ a large percentage of HPDs commit suicide or get raped etc. so yes it's serious and they need help, although it is probably the most difficult Personality Disorder to treat.

I don't think all girls are like that at all.
I have a friend who is like that.
I think its easy to say all girls are like that if you havent really met someone who genuinely has it.
Well her psychiatrist told her she does.
She's been in and out of hospitals since highschool.
I worry about her :(

Excessive dramatics with exaggerated displays of emotions
Excessive sensitivity to criticism or disapproval
Inappropriately seductive appearance or behavior
A need to be the center of attention (self-centeredness)
Low tolerance for frustration or delayed gratification
Rapidly shifting emotional states that may appear shallow to others
Opinions are easily influenced by other people, but difficult to back up with details.
Tendency to believe that relationships are more intimate than they actually are.

One of the most obvious symptoms of HPD, and one which exists in nearly every case, is excessively flirtatious or seductive behaviour. Often, HPDs are surprised or shocked when men react to their seductive invitations. For e.g. they may go to a club and start flirting with men there or engage in dramatic displays that are so provocative that men take it as an invitation to have sex.

That’s true. The criteria for personality disorders are very vague and often can be applied to just about anybody. It’s how serious the symptoms are that determine whether a person has a PD.
The following are perhaps the hallmarks of having Histrionic Personality Disorder, and I don’t think all girls have them:

(i) excessively flirtatious or seductive… e.g. always talks about sex, erotic stuff; makes advances to men, etc.

(ii) has a style of speech that is impressionistic and lacking in details; e.g. expresses strong opinions about things but which have no bases; often relates experiences in a very emotional dramatic way but without giving any details; thinks in a black-and-white way: things/people are either good or bad, nothing in between.

(iii) displays rapidly shifting and shallow emotions: one minute she’s happy and lively, and before you know it, she’s in a bad mood.

(iv) suggestible: changes her opinions, beliefs etc in order to please people or gain attention.

(v) has the “psychopathic stare”: http://www.stargods.org/ReptilianStare.htm - this is very common with Histrionics, and is often unconscious.
