History repeated?

Well, almost. Take a look at this scorecard. Scroll down to the pakistani innings. A very similar sight to today’s game’s scorecard (5th ODI @ Kanpur). Only back then the assault was carried out by Ijaz Ahmed in an almost similar fashion to Afridi’s knock today: Both had 10 fours and 9 sixes in their centurion innings.

Ironically in that innings the one person who was Ijaz’s sidekick for a bigger part of the innings was none other than.. Shahid Afridi! (47 off 23 balls).

Re: History repeated?

Nopes....
Afridi today was one in life time inning to watch. There are many innings of a 100 in 60to 70 calls.
I remember that inning from Ijaz, it was devastating but nothing compared to what Afridi did today....

Re: History repeated?

And back then it was the Pakistanis who were fined for slow over rates, rather than the Indians. :)

Re: History repeated?

I watched That match live and present at Qaddafi Stadium :dhimpak:

I still remeber standing 2hrs in long que and entering the stadium 1 hr earlier from the start fo match.

It was a treat to watch  Actually Indians were quite relieved to get afridi out after blazing 47, but Ijaz Ahmed had somthing else in the mind

It was most exciting match, I watched in stadium :k:
