There are two main schools in this regard. Both believe that 'Hadhrat Qutub Shah Qaadiri Badhdaadi (RA) was the descendant of 'Hadhrat 'Ali (RA). Both believe that 'Hadhrat Qutub Shah (RA) is the 12th descendant of 'Hadhrat 'Ali (RA). The difference is that one school traces the tree through 'Hadhrat Mu'hammad al-'Hanafa ibne 'Ali (RA) while the other one traces the tree through 'Hadhrat 'Abbaas ibne 'Ali (RA). The tree through 'Hadhrat 'Abbaas (RA) is: Qutub Shah [RA] bin Ya'li bin 'Hamza bin Tayyaar bin Qaasim bin 'Ali bin Jafar bin 'Hamza bin 'Hasan bin 'Abdullah (Some say that the name is 'Ubaidullah) bin 'Abbaas [RA] bin 'Ali [RA].
'Hadhrat Qutub Shah (RA) is among the Khulafa of Ghauth ul-A'azam 'Hadhrat 'Abdul Qaadir Jilani (RA). I'll try to post more information on this great Qaadiri Buzurg, Insha ALLAH.

All Awans are the descendants of 'Hadhrat 'Ali (RA). Those who call themselves Rajput Awan are also Qutub Shahis (except a few imposters off course). It goes like this: When Zaman Ali (Also known as Khokhar) son of Baba Ji (RA) married the Rajput Princess, their descendants started calling themselves Rajput Khokhar. All sub-Tribes of Awans and Khokhars were created because of such marriages in other Tribes.
Every one in my family has the sur name Ahmed or Khan but thats not the cast or famliy name. e.g, caste is Rajput Khokhar and real family name would be Khokhar. many people dont use full name including caste surnames anymore.

i was there for some time last year, in the summer. Its not like it used to be, too many people have moved in.I have pictures and some vids, i might upload them someday if i have time.

nah its pathans and people from other places have moved in. The marketplace around the chowk right next to naushera is so busy now. There is a huge plaza/hotel thing there and all these shops. And yes the BIG house thing is really popular these days, everyone wants to go back and build one.
i c...actually we're not from nawsherah exactly..if you go more down the road for 30 min more, then our village is there....nawsherah is where the doctor and schools are....thats the city..lol..
its named khura...not sure if its down towards kalar kahar or away from it..but i do know for sure that we pass kalar kahar and go up that little mountain/hill with the windy road....
