time to disclose right answer

Nehru rejected the idea of making Gandhi , Governor General of India because Gandhi had written to Nehru that Mr Jinah was better candidate as Prime Minster of India than Nehru.

people like Stanley Wolpert believe on this, whereas there are writers who believe that Mr Jinah himself rejected such offers time and again.
