Becuz I think gandhi wasnt the kinda person who wud want to be bound by such political status / title.

Im not sure…if muqa gave some more hint…might be easier.
I think option C is ruled out…gandhi was all for a secular state.
If we know the year…n its after independence ,we can rule out jinnah wala option too…then A and D will be left.
