^^ That would be the ideal situation, but we are good in losing the match once we get in command... pleas check the last 10-15 matches Pakistan has played..

Slim chance for Pakistan, although bowlers have the capability to bowl Aussies out around 250+.. let see what comes out next
Shoaib and Akmals have failed yet again...
Apart from the two openers everyone failed on your criteria because they all had similar scores.

its not that how much they scored, it is the atttitude, Azhar Ali and Umer Amin played well, although were not able to make runs, but they showed the intent to play, they were at least trying to apply themselves on the wicket, whereas the way Akmals and Shoaib got out cannot be forgiven, they gifted their wickets, they were suppose to make runs, they were supposedly the best available in the current lot.. so is that the way for the best / exp. player to get out??? and that is in a test match.. Malik and Akmals should have stayed on the wicket, they should have at least tried to apply themselves, they should have made better shot-selection.. which we didn't see.... and as we all know, this is not the 1st time for this trio to act like this
re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years
Still it only depend on Pakistani openers ...but i pray to defeat Aussies by an inning as 4th innings will be really difficult here :(
re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years
^^ I agree
Salman Butt have improved alot..
re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years
i want Aussies openers back within 10 runs :)

So should have most of the Australian team stayed on the pitch. the point which you are totally ignoring and not taking into account is the way the pitch is playing.
re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years
^^ I am not discounting it, all i am saying is to look at the shot-selection of Akmals and Malik... i am totally fine with others getting out cheaply ( Pakistanies in particular) they didn;t gift away their wicket... for these 3, wicket did nothing, even the bowler did nothing, they only offered it to them.... got the point...
re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years
^ I can only agree with you on Umar Akmal. I havent seen the other two wickets so will wait till I have watched them on TV. However the overall pitch condition has to be taken into account and under the circumstances Pakistan did well.

When you'll see K Akmal and Maliks wicket, you may kill them
BTW missed chance by U Akmal

Mohammad Aamer to Katich, OUT, 138.8 kph
SM Katich b Mohammad Aamer 11 (19b 1x4 0x6) SR: 57.89
:D
re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years
^^ That was a beauty... reminded me of Wasim
Test cricket dying? Nope, not if its played on tracks like this.
Wasted a bit of a chance to get a bigger lead but if we bowl well and hold catches (looking at you, Kamran), its still our game to lose.
re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years
Ponting got lucky.. he was also out :(
re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years
4.1
Mohammad Aamer to Katich, no run, 137.0 kph, cracking delivery! Pace, swing, touch of seam movement, even some bounce, Katich prodded at it but it whistled past the edge
4.2
Mohammad Aamer to Katich, no run, 139.6 kph, tough examination this for Katich, once again Aamer hanging the ball outside off stump, Katich walking far across to the off side and defends
4.3
Mohammad Aamer to Katich, OUT, 138.8 kph, Aamer strikes! Katich falls, finally he's bowled behind his legs. Throughout the series we've seen him walk across his stumps, exposing leg stump, but never missing when the bowler aimed there, this time it was too swift for him, and crashed into leg stump. First time in 10 Tests Katich hasn't made a half-century and now Ricky Ponting has a huge task on his hands.
