I think most of us have an idea from the get-go as to what would make our parents “unhappy”. So, he KNEW from the beginning that his parents won’t be accepting of you…but it doesn’t seem like he wants this as badly as you do. I know examples of desi guys who have married non-desi women. The whole situation reminds me of “Catwomen’s” story…the guy wouldn’t marry her but also couldn’t see her with anyone else. Easier said than done, but I hope that you’ll be wiser and will move on with your life. If this guy truly wants to marry you…he knows what he needs to do…he knows how to reach you. You want a marriage…and you shouldn’t settle for anything less than that. Move on.
