Hiring a car

I require some assistance, insha’allh i shall be travelling to the US this summer once again and unlike last last time, i wish to hire a european left hand drive car, as i personally dont like US cars. there handling is rubbish

I have been on a few sites such as Hertz, Enterprise, Avis etc. but they all offer the same automobiles. ERGH!

If anyone knows of where i can hire european cars whilst i am there, pls post some details. Btw, i shall be there for 30 days, of which i wish to hire for 28 days during my stay.

Re: Hiring a car

anyone?

Re: Hiring a car

^^ Why would you want to drive a left-hand car when you will be driving on the right hand side of the road?

Reminds me of that incident back in Pakistan. Some mullah in NWFP decided that it was haram to drive on the left-side of the road [kafir american right side on the road is right :omg: ]. So people decided to switch and many people died in accidents since they weren’t used to driving that way.

Re: Hiring a car

^ Is that a joke?

Orpheus, the only European car you'll find for rental in North America is a Ferrari. Avis, Hertz, Discount etc just dont stock VWs and Peugots. Spend $200+ and they'll arrange something out of their "prestige" collection. Volvos/Mercedes at Hertz.

IMHO, forget about looking for euro-trash if you only need it for a month. Do Asian. Drop by a rental shack at the airport and see what they have. You're bound to see some Altimas or Sonatas on the lot.

You say? ;)

Btw, why would american dealerships / rentals stock cars driving on the left side? It doesn't make sense except for those teen dabbas of USPS that you see plying on the roads.

Re: Hiring a car

i thought avis has jaguars. or are they noteuropean enough for you now that they are part of ford. hmmm saab is GM now

depending on what city you are going to you can find specialty rental places.

u can go for caddillac CTS which is pretty good. or the crossfire which shares much with mercedes.

I rented jaguars s-types from avis or national several times, and some place had saab as well. that was probably in orange county.

Re: Hiring a car

Well i shall be in Washington for most of the time and making some few trips to NY.

Hmmm... i think japanese cars is the way to go. Do u have any details for National?
